Mars On Scorpio 2: The Broken Bottle And Spilled Perfume Degree

In Lunar Stories by Lynda Hill

Today may be a hard one for many as emotions, thoughts, realisations, etc, can come spilling out – sometimes erupting. Mars is on Scorpio 2 and it is a rather difficult, but often (as always) rewarding degree. Scorpio 2: A BROKEN BOTTLE AND SPILLED PERFUME

Broken Bottle Of PerfumeNow, as with the 5th degree of fixed that I explained yesterday, the 2nd degree of fixed is a rather compromising and difficult grand cross. To explain what I mean – when something (like Mars for instance) is on Scorpio 2, it also holds, contains the energy of Leo 2, Taurus 2 and Aquarius 2 – they all resonate and reflect back to each other. I learnt years ago, and with a tip of the hat to Robert Blaschke who really bought this alive, that all of the degrees in the 360 wheel of the zodiac aspect each other. Degrees that are square and opposite hold a very strong charge.

With this particular grand cross of energies, starting at Scorpio 2 where Mars is now, we have The Broken Bottle Of Perfume

Aquarius 2 is An Unexpected Thunderstorm

Taurus 2 is An Electrical Storm Illuminates The Heavens And The Forests

Leo 2 is An Epidemic of Mumps (notice how Ebola has come back into the news)

and then back to Scorpio 2 on The Broken Bottle Of Perfume

This is a grand cross of rather difficult, confronting energies and we had Jupiter just go over Leo 2 and now Mars on Scorpio 2 – talk about confrontations – talk about people pushing their barrows, talk about things getting out of control. Flashes of anger can precede sometimes irrational actions – whether we’re doing it or observing others doing it. And, with Mars here and Jupiter having just ignited the Leo arm of it, it can be extremely difficult to contain it all – and perhaps we shouldn’t try too hard – it’s like it builds up and then explodes (perhaps like the lightning storms of the two other arms of the grand square).

This Symbol implies something fragile and beautiful that may somehow be shattered or lost. It can also show the need to let things go and not hang onto them to the point of shattering and loss. There will be times of building up or concentrating your emotions until they are suddenly let out. There may be little that you can do about the initial outburst, but you need to be careful of what you say and do as you sort things out. Sometimes things need to be “Broken” so that their contents can be released and fully appreciated or revealed. The smell of “Perfume” can release memories of love, longing and desire, but also anger, hurt or jealousy.

Memories lingering on. Spilled emotions. Scents or aromas. Upsetting people. Shattered emotions. Chiropractors. Back surgeons. Genie let out of the bottle. Breaking glass.

The Caution: Things looking good, but contents disappointing. The desire for drama. Bad smells. Substance abuse. Emotional mess. Smelling salts. Passing out. Accidents.

    Hi Lynda,

Your new Web Site is great! Today is August 1st, but I was just reading back and noticed that you mention Robert Blaschke on July 24 regarding his work on degrees. I was in Robert’s first astrology class at his Earthwalk School of Astrology back when he began in Lake Oswego, OR. I studied with him continuously for three years, until I moved to San Diego. He was brilliant and worked so diligently, with such focus and clarity. Thank you for mentioning him; except for the award he was given in New Orleans in 2012, I hardly ever hear anyone mention how great his contributions to astrology are.
