Post Eclipse Energies: Letting Go Of The Past And Moving Forward

'The Mermaid' by Howard Pyle

“The Mermaid” by Howard Pyle, painted in 1910. A wonderful visualization of Aries 1: A Woman Has Risen Out of the Ocean, a Seal is Embracing Her

There’s a lot to say about what’s going on with the Sabian Symbols now – it’s like the full-on energy of the eclipse and the new Moon (the effects of which are only just now starting to integrate) are now taking us into something of an anti climax… we may be feeling a little strange… the eclipse sounded like it held so much promise – but we are not ‘there’ yet! We are still growing into the possibilities. I will make a Daily Rave audio about it and post it here soon.

A few examples – Mars is now on Aries 23 – exactly conjunct Eris – A WOMAN IN PASTEL COLORS CARRYING A HEAVY AND VALUABLE BUT VEILED LOAD

This Symbol shows issues of going to a great deal of effort to conceal from others things that are very important. This could be heavy responsibilities that have been placed on you. You may feel that you have succeeded in shouldering these burdens without others knowing, but in fact it may be apparent to others in the way the burden of your secret is affecting your behavior. It may be necessary to share the load. Are you truly participating in life? Do you always put on a happy face regardless of what’s going on?

Privacy. Quiet determination to get on with the job. Carrying more than ones share, gratefully or grudgingly. Pregnancy. Doing overtime. Cheery attitudes.

The Caution: Trying to cover up distrust and greed. Keeping ones thoughts and emotions locked in can create dis-ease. Feeling unnoticed or unworthy or weak. Bad backs.

This Symbol speaks of things from the past that sometimes block progress in the present or the future. Don’t let loss beckon you to give up and throw everything away. There must always be a time to grieve, but what is lost is lost and cannot be regained by losing yourself. Know when it’s time to fill in the grave and let go, whether it’s literally letting go of people who have passed away or have disappeared from your life in order to move on. Gather up your energies and move towards new objectives letting go of the old.

Letting go of relationships and things that no longer work. Purging the past. Gradual realization of the illusion of matter. The passage of grief. Redundancies.

The Caution: Wasting time staring at lost opportunities. Grudges and hard feelings that last much longer than they have to. Divorce and loss and the grief that can ensue.

This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to know when to stop battling in life, when to lay down one’s “Sword” and take up a higher position that reflects a more intelligent or spiritual way of being in the world. Sometimes, when reminded of the battles of the past, we are influenced towards actions that ensure peace. We are uplifted by the symbolic memory of past deeds of valor, although the stings of defeat may also be part of the story. You may find yourself faced with the choice of fighting or reasoning which is confused by your lack of training or experience in the ways of “Battle”. Don’t go down with the ship. It helps to lay down one’s ‘sword’ – not in order to surrender, but to stop the ‘warring’

Will power. Martial arts. Putting aside vengeance and revenge. History. Hanging up one’s sword. Trophies from the past. The Spear of Destiny. Retirement. Words as swords.

The Caution: Lack of sensitivity. Pretense of one’s abilities. Falling on one’s sword from defeat. Sexual impotence. Domestic violence. Giving up. Grudges. Wanting to go into “Battle”.

That’s a lot to carry – but remember, the Sun is just now going into Aries – it’s the beginning of the new… but, it seems that we have work to do (again and still) of letting go of the past… The Sun is on Aries 1: A WOMAN HAS RISEN OUT OF THE OCEAN, A SEAL IS EMBRACING HER

This degree is the beginning of the zodiac where the old gets left behind. New understanding and awareness is coming to light. Something new is emerging and it needs to be welcomed and nurtured. This is the beginning of a whole new impulse, creative and responsive. There’s an emergence of a whole new potentiality. Resist looking back to outgrown and unsatisfactory conditions in your life as they can pull you back to old and unrewarding ways of being. This is also about finding your voice and your feet. It’s about conscious individuation and the need to forge into new worlds with a new way of being.

Beginnings. Emergence of the feminine into concrete manifestation. Cycles beginning. The beginning of spring. Confidence in a whole new arena of being. Shedding old skins.

The Caution: Using the masculine drive to overshadow the emotions. Refusing to move into a new state of being because one is held back by previous life conditions.
