Mercury Opposition Neptune: The Harem And Clinging To Faith Degrees
Mercury is on Virgo 7: A HAREM, and, it is being opposed by Neptune on Pisces 7.
Virgo 7 in itself has a ring of Neptune around it – a ‘harem’ can be a place of beauty, adoration of the feminine, gatherings of women, but, it can also be a place of servitude, codependence and a lack of boundaries and individual rights.
Are you giving yourself away? Do you do things for others without thought for yourself? Are the women you know in some kind of ‘competition’ with you ? or is that the feeling you are getting lately? Trying to live up to some kind of rule or expectation when really you might be giving up your independence and freedoms?
This Symbol shows being in a group, or a “Harem”. A “Harem” is a symbol of women being, living and working together. Sharing with others, whether they are women or men, in an atmosphere of trust and belonging can bring rewards of all kinds to your life. There may be a feeling of being dominated or being part of a group where you compete for whatever small benefits may be available. Perhaps you are not taken seriously enough. There is a need to use your charm and appealing aspects of your nature to succeed in order to stand out from the crowd and claim a special place for yourself.
Rising above jealousy, arrogance and passion. Waiting to be bestowed with the gift of being ‘chosen’. Women’s groups. Working together and sharing women’s rituals or stories.
The Caution: Believing in the right to dominate those in less powerful social circumstances OR not giving oneself a sense of importance in the situation. Mistrust.
Neptune is exactly opposite – and this degree Symbols is, of course, always opposite The Harem – always… they play into each other.
ILLUMINATED BY A SHAFT OF LIGHT, A LARGE CROSS LIES ON ROCKS SURROUNDED BY SEA AND MIST
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to stay firm in one’s faith and belief in life even when one’s hopes and dreams take a battering. There may be feelings of chaos and misplaced loyalties in your life, like something has been sacrificed for no real cause and some things have come to nothing. At times in your life, you may want to see if perhaps your aim was too high and things came crashing down as a result of a lack of care, by yourself or others, or through people opposing your objectives or success. Having faith and a positive end in sight, you can experience a wonderful spiritual awakening – reconnecting with your spiritual ideals. Concentrate on the “Shaft of Light” as this can show you that white light is all around you.
Renewed dedication after loss. Signs of recovery and hope. Coming to terms with loss or failure. Important, substantial sacrifices. Finding the way through the dark. Faith and hope.
The Caution: Losing faith. Hopes completely dashed. Unable to see through the fog. Scorn, persecution or attack through religious or social reasons. Sacrifices, sometimes for nothing.
