Mars, Uranus, Venus, The Sun – It’s All Happening

Well, we have mostly survived the Mars/Uranus opposition (well, most of us did) in one piece. It’s been going on for several days now and is not quite finished, but, I guess the crescendo of it has probably lessened somewhat.

Over the weekend, Mars was on Libra 18: TWO PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO GIVE AN ACCOUNTING FOR THEIR ACTS BEFORE THE TRIBUNAL OF SOCIETY –

Or – as this degree has been otherwise written TWO MEN PLACED UNDER ARREST ARE BROUGHT BEFORE THE TRIBUNAL OF SOCIETY TO GIVE AN ACCOUNTING FOR THEIR ACTIONS

This Symbol implies the periodic need for people to step up to the line and explain themselves, or to justify some actions or ways of being, particularly in relationships. Sometimes our ideas or actions are under criticism, to the point of feeling that someone has offended social acceptability. Be thoughtful about situations, because problems you face may only exist in your own mind, stopping you from having fruitful relationships because of a lack of trust or a failed relationship in your past. You may need to forgive or feel forgiven. Relationships can be held in abeyance until the facts come to light. Things resolve themselves as time goes by.

Unacceptable principles. People kept apart because of circumstances. Relationships like jail sentences. Staying too long. The law. Karma to be worked out. Judge and juries.

The Caution: Refusing to conform to society. Sabotaging relationship values. Feeling stuck, unable to move. Telling tales. Handcuffs and manacles. Severe judgments.

This Symbol can also show where people are stuck in situations, relationships, emotions, etc, that somehow have them handcuffed to something or someone that they would perhaps be better off not. It can be a freeing Symbol, this one, but, we – or someone else – may have to face a level of shame, confrontation, confession, etc, as we navigate through the waters. People may have a strong desire (or need) to talk about ‘the other’ – perhaps gossiping, or, trying to let themselves off the hook by blaming someone or something else.

Alternatively, we may be forced to wait (possibly yet again) for something to happen or to clear up or make itself known.

Uranus is, and has been for some weeks, on Aries 17: TWO PRIM SPINSTERS SITTING TOGETHER IN SILENCE – and, as mentioned above, it has been opposing Mars in Libra 

This Symbol shows that quiet withdrawal might be just what you need. However, it is easy to become isolated in conservative, albeit moral, ideas. You may find that there is only a select, restricted group with whom you wish to associate. There can be a quiet knowing that doesn’t need a lot of words or emotional displays. Just be wary that this false sense of security doesn’t isolate you from change and growth. Unresolved issues can lead to stunted emotional responses. Look for opportunities to open up to new possibilities.

Loosening up emotional blockages. Holding onto one’s original identity. Not wanting to compromise because of social expectations. Relationships that have a quiet knowing.

The Caution: Emotional insulation. Refusing relationship. Pretending to be something. Disapproval of younger, more vital energies. Being fussy and judgmental.

With Uranus on this degree, we may sense the difficulty in really opening up. We may feel that others are not being true with their emotions, not letting on what’s really happening. Or, we could find ourselves telling people far more than might be wise or useful. Gossip can come from those who feel the need to deflect what’s going on by projecting onto others.

This ‘Spinsters’ degree, however, can have us being very wordy, very enthusiastic, and very much into sharing with others. It all depends on what’s going on within and around you.

Mars now is on Libra 19: A GANG OF ROBBERS IN HIDING – and, it’s still opposite Uranus on Aries 17 – the TWO PRIM SPINSTERS degree 

This Symbol implies that you, or someone else, may feel wronged or something has been taken from you. Often, there is no real way of finding who or what is the cause. It often happens that the feelings of loss or being taken advantage of are mostly in your own mind, making it difficult to trust or even to know how to trust. Make sure that there is no undermining of faith by indulging in suspicions that are ungrounded in reality. You could spend time searching for perpetrators, but a better solution is probably to get on with your life. However, do take precautions so you’re not easily taken advantage of. Things will most probably come to light when they are meant to.

Mental attitudes that sabotage, restrict or control. Counseling others to help improve their lives. Alert to intrusion or paranoid? The need for light. Spying. Ambushes. Psychology.

The Caution: Unfair advantage at other’s expense. Finding it hard to trust anything. Difficult hidden energies that erupt into consciousness. Unbalanced mental states. Fear.

So, as can be seen, we have some rather difficult energies around us.

Further, the Sun is on Sagittarius 22: A CHINESE LAUNDRY

This Symbol pictures situations where people may not be taken seriously, are expected to perform in a stereotypical way or are shut away because of their culture, or language, or because of racial prejudice. In a “Chinese Laundry” people are often working very hard with little free time and expected to do the ‘dirty work’ for others for very little in return. Be careful not to shut yourself away as there can be the danger of closing your mind to other options, opportunities and possibilities. This can also picture situations where people are working closely together, speaking the same language, although here, too, there can still be alienation and loneliness.

Restrictions of all kinds. Laws and legislation based on social and racial equality. Issues of belonging. Doing jobs because they should be done. Efficient work practices.

The Caution: Giving in to prejudice. Self-inflicted inferiority. Being used. Issues of self respect. Confining stereotypes. Money laundering. Not taken seriously. Feeling trapped.

Issues to do with ethnicity and race can divide people. So can the feeling of not being appreciated around the work that you do. Or, not feeling like you get paid enough. Perhaps you want to do something more significant. You could be feeling the angst of so many people who are treated like slaves and underlings.

Venus could hold some clues to a possible ‘rescue’ from difficulties. Venus is on Scorpio 11: A DROWNING MAN IS BEING RESCUED

This Symbol shows the ability, or the necessity, of helping others, being on hand when they need it and rescuing and bringing a sense of life back to people. It can show a rescuing nature; a counselor, therapist, life saver, etc. Of course, it can be that you need “Rescuing” in some way, whether it’s through counseling, getting a much needed loan, or having stress and strain lifted so that you can breathe freely again. This symbol often shows someone overpowered or overcome by their inability to cope emotionally .Often we feel like we are being suffocated, by our marriage, job, friendships, life path or the lack of these things. Know that help is at hand and soon you’ll be able to breathe easily again.

Resuscitation. Regaining one’s breath. Being rescued. Finding life renewed. Salvation. Finding help in times of crisis. Ventilators. Oxygen. Dependence. Last minute reprieves.

The Caution: Panicking to draw help rather than learning how to cope. Unrealistic reliance on others. Getting into deep water on a regular basis. Not wanting to save yourself.

We can lend a hand to others AND we can sense that we are being ‘rescued’ in some measure. Sometimes the ‘rescue’ can merely be taking a big lungful of breath and feeling your lungs expanding. This can bring about a realisation of where you really are and what is really going on for you.

The trick with this lot is not to fall into the mire, especially with Mars on The Gang Of Robbers and the Sun on The Chinese Laundry. 

The Moon’s North Node may contain another clue to feeling better about what’s going on. It’s on Virgo 27: ARISTOCRATIC ELDERLY LADIES DRINKING AFTERNOON TEA IN A WEALTHY HOME

This Symbol speaks of spending time with others in a setting of privilege in order to take in refreshments and socialize and catch up. Regardless of age or what one’s drinking, gathering with like minded people is good for the soul and brings a sense of communion. There is no need to rush and facing situations with elegant composure brings the respect of others. However, keeping things looking ‘respectable’ may take on too much importance. The question arises: How real about life and each other are the people gathering together? Sharing your time with people who quietly know and understand each other brings peace of mind and happiness.

Quiet knowing atmosphere. Special privileges. Time off to relax. Appreciation of culture. Entertaining and having fun. Fine china. Bridge games. Silver cutlery. Gossip. Being in the club.

The Caution: Social exclusivity and smugness. Idle gossip. Expecting others to do the hard grind. Loneliness. Mindless talk. Little to think about or do. Snobbery.

Remembering all that we really do have can have us realising how lucky we truly are. Even in the midst of difficulties. Concentrating on your inner beauty and integrity can work wonders now – along with dropping fears.
