Bernie Sanders: An Abbreviated Look At His Chart…

Bernie Sanders. As we know, his time of birth is unavailable. Many astrologers, though, do look to this 12.27pm chart. Regardless of how accurate the time of birth is, there are still many things that can be mined from it. What took my attention is his retrograde Mars and the Symbols for that and his current progressed Mars.

Bernie’s Mars is on Aries 24: AN OPEN WINDOW AND A NET CURTAIN BLOWING INTO THE SHAPE OF A CORNUCOPIA

This Symbol shows that your mind is, or should be, open to possibilities that are being ‘blown’ in from the realm of spirit. There is an abundance coming, shown by the Cornucopia, which will be self-sustaining. This degree suggests that with the slightest change in direction your fortunes could change as well. Look for out-of-the-ordinary opportunities and possibilities. Realizing that in one’s everyday life, one has it all. Open your windows and blinds and let air and sunshine in and watch good things follow.

This Symbol shows that it’s time to take charge, to expand your base of operations and to show that you have the integrity and the necessary energy to get things done. It’s also about bringing a sense of order and discipline into your life – physically, spiritually or emotionally. Find your sense of inner power and make it work for you and don’t let others lord it over you. Be in control of your own destiny and individuality. Show that you can be given a position of responsibility and get things done.

I checked out Bernie’s recent progressed new Moon, which occurred on January 1 2013. The Sabian Symbol for which is Scorpio 27: A MILITARY BAND MARCHES NOISILY ON THROUGH THE CITY STREETS – this is a major influence on Bernie’s life for the next several years. No wonder he feels the need to bang the drum. No wonder he speaks out against wars and the bloodshed and the incredible waste of resources.

This Symbol shows the need for occasionally making a show for society to remind ourselves of our successes and achievements, whether they are collective or personal achievements. The “Military Band” can make an enormous amount of noise as it “Marches Noisily”, but sometimes we need to be woken or reminded of the cohesion that a military band can show. Likewise, this can show someone that likes to bang their own drum or to make a big noise about themselves or for the establishment. As long as the audience is ok with this display, one can contain the reaction from others. Sometimes, though, people get annoyed by people banging their drums a little too loudly.

His progressed Sun is on Scorpio 30: CHILDREN IN HALLOWEEN COSTUMES INDULGING IN VARIOUS PRANKS – and, in six month’s time, his progressed Sun moves into Sagittarius after being in Scorpio for some thirty years. Life is likely to lighten up for him, at least in some measure.

This Symbol implies that society needs to have an outlet for disruptive energies, and to have periodic displays of fun, even indulging in somewhat disruptive pranks. You may feel that the trickster in you needs to be let out every now and then, or you may be the focus of tricks by others. Whichever, it should be acknowledged that there needs to be an occasional outlet for immature or fun loving energies, as long as there’s no harm done. This Symbol can refer to somebody who doesn’t take anything too seriously. The time of Halloween is the time when the veil between the living and the dead becomes very thin.
