Mandala RussellThe Sun and Mercury are conjunct on Cancer 16 and about to oppose Pluto. This can make for some intense introspection, the desire to know, the need to plan, the need to learn. 

And, in some cases, it can bring up enormous power struggles.

The Symbol is Cancer 16: A MAN STUDYING A MANDALA IN FRONT OF HIM, WITH THE HELP OF A VERY ANCIENT BOOK – the ‘Very Ancient Book’ can show the knowledge of the past, and, it can show us how we might take on knowledge, strategies, understandings, etc, so we can move forward into a better take on our futures. This degree often shows up around issues to do with astrology, but, it can also show anything that requires focus and looking deeply into situations.

This Symbol shows being able to make sense out of complex systems and to be able to apply them in everyday life. However, you may still be puzzled by the deeper meanings of your situation. The key is often found in old knowledge and wisdom or systems of understanding like architecture and astrology. Perhaps you feel ‘boxed in’ by situations and need to be able to strategize your way out. You must seek what is already known in order to understand. Knowledge is available to you. Studying ‘the secret mysteries’ can reveal answers to life’s questions.

The opposition to Pluto, which is in effect over the next few days, can bring up intense emotions, a feeling of having to delve deeply into something, a desire to uncover truths, a strong drive to plot and plan and KNOW. It also can show the need to ‘reveal’ ourselves, to throw off something that is binding us to memories, events, people, outcomes, etc, that may be too much for us at this point in time. We may, however, make some big, rather final decisions out of this period…

This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to get rid of the restraints that have been imposed by social conditioning and inhibitions; to strip down to bare essentials and not be Bathing in the nudeashamed of it. The “Young Woman”, or, “Young Person” in this degree is enjoying the feeling of not having clothes nor costume to constrain or cover them. They are also letting the sun and the air contact their skin which is very healthy and revivifying. Although there may be some feelings of being ‘exposed’, really letting go and not worrying about being ‘seen’ can lead to feelings of freedom. This applies to a freeing up or exposing on a spiritual and emotional level as well, it’s not just confined to physical realities.

The Caution: Suppression of natural attitudes. Bondage to inhibitions. Exhibitionist. Revealing too much. Showing off. Lack of concern for others’ feelings. Sexual exploitation.
