September’s full Moon, occuring on September 16 in the US and September 17 in Australia, is a penumbral lunar eclipse – quoting from Space.com =

This September, the moon will pass through the outer edge of the Earth’s shadow in a celestial event that may not be visible to the naked eye. During a total lunar eclipse, skywatchers can often see the moon as it passes through the central shadow of the Earth. During a penumbral eclipse, like the one happening on Sept. 16, sunlight is only blocked by the outer shadow of the Earth, called the penumbra. It will be visible in Africa, Asia, Australia, the western Pacific and parts of eastern Europe. The September lunar eclipse is one of several minor lunar eclipses leading to the next total eclipse of the moon in early 2018. click here to read more about this eclipse on space.com

So, this eclipse is not a particularly powerful one in astronomical terms – but – it is an incredibly powerful one in terms of the astrological. For a start, the Sabian Symbols for the Moon and the Sun are extremely interesting in that they can be rather dramatic, and, are likely to bring about major events, on any or all levels of our being. The Purging Of The Priesthood – the Symbol for the Moon – and – The Flag At Half Mast In Front Of A Public Building – the Symbol for the Sun, can both mark major turning points and issues of great importance unfolding, sometimes, although not always, in a rather immediate fashion.

Secondly, Jupiter is smack on the Super Galactic Center (SGC), right on it to the degree, and, it is traversing over the length of the SGC in the days following this eclipse. The SGC is said to be ‘where the mind of God resides’ – it is that part of the zodiac, along with the Galactic Center of late Sagittarius, that is said to connect in strongly with the Law Of Attraction. And, the Sabian Symbols back this idea up very nicely. All of the Symbols that comprise the SGC are extraordinary, from Virgo 29 up to Libra 6. Libra 6 is: A Man Watches His Ideals Taking Concrete Form Before His Inner Vision. Jupiter gets to this degree in the first week of October, and, it spends more than a few days on that degree.

What this is saying, in a nutshell, is that this is a fabulous time for really formulating and formatting what we want, where we want to be going, and, how we want to be doing it. I say a lot more about all of this in the audio (posted below).

Certainly, there is a lot of heat in this full Moon as Mars is in a closing t-square with the Sun-Moon opposition. And, Chiron is also strongly present, being conjunct (together with) the Moon, opposite the Sun and square Mars. These energies together can bring up big releases, big realizations, big events, breakthroughs, anger, upset, enormous (and sometimes frustrated) ambitions, and, ideological, spiritual, intellectual or religious ‘wars’ can emerge suddenly as people can feel very pressed on so many levels. With Mars on Sagittarius 24, The Bluebird Of Good Luck And Happiness degree, we can also feel very driven to find our ‘happiness’ our sense of fulfillment in our lives.

We also have the ongoing Saturn/Neptune square which is playing right along with the Moon’s nodes. This can bring up the strong desire to pursue one’s quest, along with realizations and awakenings that can jolt us out of our illusions and propel us into a better reality, although, we may feel rather beaten-up along the way. This is an incredibly meaningful time. Frustrating, yes, but meaningful.

In the days leading up to the eclipse, Venus and Pluto are in a square aspect to each other, and, in the few days following, Venus opposes Uranus. This can also mark the end of an era, the end of relationships, or, the reworking of how you get along, what you can expect, etc. Of course, these Venus transits can bring up issues to do with money, finances, business, buying and selling, etc.
