At The Crossroads Of Civilizations: The Aquarian Full Moon August 2021
We are like ignorant shepherds living on a site where great civilizations once flourished. The shepherds play with the fragments that pop up to the surface, having no notion of the beautiful structures of which they were once a part. Allan Bloom
Man has been crying since ancient times about the deterioration of civilization. Jason Lewis
More than any time in history mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness, the other to total extinction. Let us pray that we have the wisdom to choose correctly. Woody Allen
If it should turn out that we have mishandled our own lives as several civilizations before us have done, it seems a pity that we should involve the violet and the tree frog in our departure. Loren Eiseley
The earth laughs in flowers. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend is the policy for promoting the progress of the arts and the sciences and a flourishing culture in our land. Mao Tse-Tung
August’s full Moon occurs on August 22, and, as one might suspect, it’s a bit of a mixed bag of energies. Jupiter is conjunct this full Moon which can bring wonderful new energies, but, it can also bring in new laws and sometimes restrictive codes of living. Jupiter can be like that: We can enjoy the gifts of Jupiter or feel rather bound by them. It depends on one’s situation – suffice to say that, with so many planets retrograde, we may be hankering for more freedom and the right to live authentically by our own moral codes, or, we could be accepting that this is a time of wait and see. Probably both, and more, are happening. BTW, things here in Australia are under very restrictive rules and restrictions – half of the population is locked down – it is really a very difficult situation for us here (and in Canada and the UK in particular).
Mercury and Mars are in a separating conjunction which may have had us feeling a bit like a powder keg this last week (heck for months perhaps), and we may have found ourselves or others having hair-trigger reactions. The pressures we’ve been feeling and experiencing can certainly push us to our limits – thankfully, this energy is receding somewhat (although obviously many pressures still remain). We may find people (ourselves too) being nitpicky and argumentative. As this conjunction occurs in Virgo, this can bring up issues to do with our health, with health care providers – nurses and doctors, etc. etc.
And, as Mercury moves into an opposition aspect to Neptune a few days after the full Moon – we may start really doubting our own thoughts, motives, aspirations, emotions, etc, as well as those of others. We may either see right through what’s going on, OR, we can find ourselves being even more hypnotized and beguiled by others – particularly the news and the media. We may find ourselves a lot more sensitive to what’s being said and what the real agenda is behind a lot of what’s going on.
Mercury and Mars trining Uranus can have us looking to issues of true freedom, and, memories from the past in perhaps happier times may bring up the need to keep a positive mind frame, to remember that projecting a positive mindset can free us up in more ways than one. Breakthroughs in understanding and insight are very possible now, especially if we seek answers now.
Saturn and Venus are in a trine aspect and this can have us making decisions about what we do and don’t want, and, we may find an added layer of resolve around who we do and don’t want in our lives. True friends stand out, those who are not aligned with your values may soon become a remnant of the past. Sticking to our values can be rewarded with some good karma for good deeds and actions, especially as Saturn and Venus for a grand trine with a kite to the nodes. The right people, the right associations and ideals can lead to a clearer vision of the future. The trick is, of course, that with all of the outer planets retrograde, we may be marking time rather than pushing forward with our objectives.
This full Moon is on the last degree of Aquarius, which is the first degree of the Age of Aquarius (the ages ‘move’ backwards through the zodiac). It’s curious to note that the last degree of the Age of Pisces is Pisces 1: A CROWDED PUBLIC MARKETPLACE. This of course, speaks of the economy – banks, the exchange of money, digital currencies, the provision of food and goods, making and spending money, insurance companies, the Federal Reserve etc. As we go into the Age of Aquarius (I’m not suggesting for one minute that that is an instant or quick thing – the cuspal period is some 240 years), but, one can no doubt see that these issues are in front of us now – we’ll soon have cash removed entirely from the marketplace, and, a worldwide digital currency installed. We are in very interesting times.
The last degree of the Piscean Age, Pisces 1: A Crowded Public Market Place, can show many things – amongst them, obviously, markets and marketing, money and power, corruption and damage to the environment for big business, the abuses caused by big markets, insurance companies, jails run by big business, etc. Of course, there are fabulously wonderful things to be found in The Large Public Market – fresh produce, lovely things that sparkle and reward, employment, work, nourishment and sustenance of all kinds. But, what we’re seeing at this point of our evolution are largely abusive to our sense of selves and our environment and our sensibilities. It’s a very interesting cusp, this one. Again, of course, this full Moon is not necessarily ringing in the beginning, or the middle or whatever, of the cusp of the Aquarius Age. It does, however bring up many of those issues and it can be interesting to observe them in that light.
So please do excuse my indulgence in speaking about the Aquarian Age with this full Moon on the cusp of the Aquarian Age. It is so big that we will, in our short 80-100 years on the planet, only experience a small part of it.
The World Economic Forum describes the changes we are going through on a global level as The Fourth Industrial Revolution. I have a lot to say about all of that, but, this is not the forum for it so I’ll leave it out (!)… suffice to say that we are and will be seeing massive amounts of changes in the world.
BTW, I’ve have literally stood inside the walls of Babylon – I was there in 1976. It was a real trip to actually be there, and, sad to see how Iraq has been decimated even more since then – and, it is the ‘large public market’ that did it – the west with it’s demands of oil and the control of the region (and the control of water which I’ve always talked about as being one of the major reasons that the west invaded that region).
Please consider donating to this newsletter and for the online Oracle. You can donate below. BTW, I’m doing a complete rewrite of the website, so would appreciate any donations. I hesitate to mention that the rewrite is costing US$10,000 – it just had to be done as the Sabian Symbols deserve a better showing than I’ve been able to provide, so I’ve taken a rather big task to do it. Thanks for any donations towards this. The new site will be online in a few week’s time.

The Sabian Symbol for this full Moon is Aquarius 30: MOONLIT FIELDS, ONCE BABYLON, ARE BLOOMING WHITE – the following is my full interpretation from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom –
Commentary: ‘Moonlit Fields, Once Babylon, Are Blooming White’ is an expression of purity, innocence and the fruits of the past. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were a magnificent structure that long ago celebrated the rule of human culture. The Gardens were said to be enormous structures with incredibly intricate watering systems. They are one of the Wonders of the Ancient World. Whether real or not, these gardens appeal to the human desire to return to the simple and exquisite life of the Garden of Eden, a life of earthly paradise. The myth of an original garden with perfumed trees and luscious fruits, birds and animal life, and rivers of life-giving waters is common to many faiths including Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Many great advances come out of this region, including language, astronomy and mathematics. Long after Babylon’s fall and the man-made structures disappeared, mere remnants of the garden that was ‘Once Babylon’ remain.
Oracle: Even though the grandeur of the past may be lost, changed or damaged by war or time, the energy and power of a place remains. This Symbol reflects the permanence of the natural essence of a place, a person, an idea or a civilization. The essence will long remain and the seeds will sprout forth anew as these ‘Moonlit Fields Are Now Blooming White’. Rewards come from nature’s bounty for all the work that’s been done even amongst the devastation and ruin that has been endured. No matter what is thrown at something, the resilience and beauty of its spirit will continue to push through the odds. There may be a feeling that you are in the right place at the right time. All in all, your best qualities or your talents will be recognized and appreciated. When you are following a true path, you are able to rely on the support of the universe in its flow. This is the degree of the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. As the energy of the Age of Pisces wanes, the Age of Aquarius sprouts forth like a “flower” from the ruins of the old.
Keywords: Rewards coming through from past generations. The feeling of ancestors surrounding one’s present deeds. Alchemy. Loss of ancient civilizations. Reverence for things from the past. The Middle East and all things middle-eastern. Belly-dancing. Rebirths of old civilizations. Grandeur. Seeds of the past becoming flowers and fruits of the present. Records. Fields that were once Avalon.
The Caution: Disbelieving because there are no rational structures or support. Destroying ancient lands or monuments because of religious beliefs or greed. The devastation and ruin of Iraq in order for the modern world to succeed. Projecting the sins of the world onto people or places that are foreign.
The Karmic Condition of this full Moon is Aquarius 29: A BUTTERFLY EMERGING FROM A CHRYSALIS
This Symbol shows the ability, or the necessity, of growing, expanding, escaping restrictions and evolving into a more expansive sense of self with bigger and better potentials. At times in your life, often crossroads or major turning points, you are likely to be able to realize many of your latent, but promising, potentials. Like an awakening, you are suddenly able to do something that truly reflects you and who you strive to be. This emergence builds for some time; a metamorphosis takes place. Ensure that you take a moment to adjust to new developments before taking flight.
Keywords: Slow building of confidence. Coming out into a fuller participation in the bigger picture. Growing up and out. Emerging from the dark. Leaving yesterday behind. Becoming more and more beautiful. Finding one’s feet or wings. Metamorphosis. Huge changes in the works. Giving up struggling. The drama of new life unfolding. Strait jackets.
The Caution: Failing to allow changes to be experienced. Feeling like one will never “arrive”. Struggling to emerge ahead of time. Feeling confined. Being tied to the past. Rushing leading to disorientation or injury.
The Quest Degree of this full Moon is Pisces 1: A CROWDED PUBLIC MARKET PLACE
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to advertise, market, and sell things, barter and complete the deal. People come together, bringing their talents, skills and wares to the marketplace. Being involved in the marketplace is the thing, and how much you are involved will show the things you need to do and the tempo of the buying and selling. It can indicate the issue of having ones self or goods on display and ready for sale. The “Market Place” is said to be “Crowded” and “Public”. Many aspects of the community are on display and available for the benefit of others. You may find that you are able to contribute, benefit and gain. Getting yourself or your products ‘out there’, where they can be appreciated can bring rewards on many levels.
Keywords: Human interchange. Bartering. Commercialism. Shopping centers, markets. The Internet. People fulfilling each other’s desires. Buyers and sellers. Classifieds. Consumables. Money changing hands. Products of all kinds. Globalization—its rewards and trappings. Shops and landlords. Storage, stockpiles and stocktaking. Bargains and bargaining. The rules of fair trade. Competition. Public opinion. The economy. Trade embargoes. Big business. The Stock market. Advertising.
The Caution: Being too stingy or greedy to share benefits. Airing ones “laundry”, emotions or possessions in public. Panicking from feeling “crowded in”. Exploiting for greed. Disputes over costs. Monopolies. Not letting anything get in the way of making a buck. Always bargaining for one’s own advantage. Rip offs. Sweatshops. Being too busy to enjoy people.
The Sabian Symbol of the Sun is Leo 30: AN UNSEALED LETTER HAS VITAL AND CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
This Symbol shows that there is a message you hold inside that you may wish to spread and you will be able to do it if you put the message into reality either by writing it down or speaking it. There can, at times, be a desire to reveal one’s inner feelings, however the opposite can also be true: You may feel very confronted by the thought of wearing your heart on your sleeve. However you transmit this ‘Vital and Confidential Information’, it needs to be done from the heart and with integrity. When this is done the right people can see it and benefit from it. Be aware of sharing information that isn’t yours to share or that breaks confidentiality with someone who trusts you.
Keywords: Wearing your heart on your sleeve. Shared thoughts and feelings. Declaring what needs to be said. “Dear John” letters. Laying one’s self on the line through writing things down. Diaries. Letters. Penmanship. Messages of intent. Things said out loud. Confidences.
The Caution: Playing games with information. Pretending to conceal for the purposes of deceit. Blurting things out. Not giving any indication of what’s thought. Being upset about having things out in the open. Passing on the secrets of others. Revealing things that shouldn’t be revealed.
The Sabian Symbol of Mercury is Virgo 19: A SWIMMING RACE
You may find yourself in competition over emotional issues or working your way through shared emotions and hoping to win, or to come out on top. It is through training and practice and the controlled use of your emotions that success can be achieved. It is this experience that you must call on now. Work hard at achieving the win for rewards in the larger picture (club, school, country) or for winning the race leaving purely personal gains behind may be the answer.
Keywords: Looking sideways to see how others are coping with the strain of competition. Competing with one’s emotions. Capitalism. The striving for first place or greatness. Swimming, sports, competition. Wanting to be first at everything. Learning how fit one is. Concentrating on the goal. Medals and awards. Training and practice. Showing your abilities in front of others.
The Caution: Allowing the competitive spirit to dominate emotional sensitivity. Always going for “the win”. Trying to outdo each other. Being on the go all the time. Bad sportsmanship. Not knowing how to lose. Wanting always to conquer others. Always seeing others as competitors.
The Quest Degree of Mercury is Virgo 20: A CARAVAN OF CARS HEADED FOR PROMISED LANDS (in Australia, there is a lot of talk of a truck blockade in protest of the severe restrictions we’re experiencing).
There is a feeling of needing to move on to new thoughts, a new way of doing things, possibly even on to a new way of life, but you are probably not alone. There are likely to be several others who share the same impulses. Setting out on a new venture can be fun, even if somewhat risky. Having a map of where you’re going will help, as will a willingness to meet new people.
Keywords: Venturing into life with like-minded companions. The support of others in a quest for the future. Seeking new territory. Rallies and caravans of cars. Exchanging money. Commerce. Buses, caravans, trucks, etc. Leaving behind the known for the unknown. Gypsies. Hollywood. California. “Boom” towns. The “magic bus”. Conferences.
The Caution: Forsaking the individual path in favor of a more secure, common one. Perpetuating restlessness. Constantly seeking the “pot of gold”. Far-off lands. Inability to settle anywhere. Being a rolling-stone. Forsaking lasting relationships. Crazy goose chases. Running away from problems. Fear of flying.
The Sabian Symbol of Venus is Libra 8: A BLAZING FIREPLACE IN A DESERTED HOME
This Symbol implies the ability, or the necessity, to provide warmth and reassurance in times of emptiness, loss or desertion. At times during your life you will need to remember that even in times of real loneliness, when you feel separated from your ‘center’, there is a constant, unseen, sustaining energy always ready to welcome you home: whether it be the fire of your own spiritual center, the warmth and familiarity of family and kin, or a knowing that one is sustained by humanity at large. You may need this reassurance yourself or you may be the one to help others in their hour of need.
Keywords: Security and comfort left behind. A fire left blazing inside to reassure. Wood for burning. Gas, electricity connections. Holiday homes, or homes that are rarely visited. Homes filled with love, if not people or possessions. The warmth of the heart. Holding a candle for someone who’s gone. Fertility issues. Heart and hearth. Fireplaces. The place to which one returns.
The Caution: A sense of isolation, separation, abandonment, and bitterness. Sabotage by, or of, loved ones and family. Being forced out of the home, possibly for social reasons. Desertion and decay of love. Never being at home because of work concerns and commitments. Separation. Divorce. Latch-key children. Feeling alone and out in the cold. The light being on, but no one at home. Lack of domestic supplies.
The Sabian Symbol of Mars is Virgo 15: A FINE LACE ORNAMENTAL HANDKERCHIEF
Sometimes the smallest tokens of our past can bring us a sense of security and joy. The scent of the “fabric”, the care and loving that have gone into the crafting of things of beauty give a sense of security and being loved. A ‘Lace Handkerchief’ is an extremely feminine and personal possession associated with perfume, tears and matters of the heart. Since medieval times, women have given their loved ones this small token of their love and commitment before they went into battle or traveled abroad. The scent of the “fabric” and the care and loving that have gone into the crafting of it give a sense of security and being remembered and loved. We are often amazed by how much attention to detail, care and thought goes into making something so beautiful, small and delicate. Even small gifts can bring a sense of love and care; they can become very sentimental. The smallest tokens of our past can bring us a sense of security and joy.
Keywords: Delicacy of feeling. Attention to detail. Winning awards through valor. Hypersensitivity. Looking but not touching. Overdressing. Appearing too delicate to truly enjoy life. Make-up and accessories. Fragility. Old things of lace and beauty. Refinement. Small gifts given with deep feeling.
The Caution: The artificial sob story. False sympathy. Asking for love when in reality one doesn’t really want it. Impractical belongings. Things that get shunted aside as irrelevant, unworthy or unusable. Things of little use in today’s world. Mass manufacturing. Things made in sweatshops.
The Karmic Condition of Mars is Virgo 14: FINELY LETTERED NAMES AND MYSTERIOUS LINES ARE SEEN; IT IS A FAMILY TREE
There is a need to call upon the deeper and inherent knowledge within. What’s been learnt from past experience, possibly from one’s ancestral roots, will help you find the greatest strength. This implies a strong family heritage, however it may come from having a deep connection with people or things that you are not actually related to, but are in your ‘family’ nonetheless. There can be a stronger draw to your ‘soul tribe’ rather than those that are actually family.
Keywords: Strength in tradition. Belonging to a lineage. The story of where one comes from. Issues of pride of heritage. The importance of parents and family. Branches in databases. Having strong and secure roots. Origins and their relevance to today’s life. Ancestors. Calligraphy. Fine pens. Filling in the gaps. Adoptions. Step families. Pedigrees. Kin. Genealogy. Inheritance. Family Bibles.
The Caution: Disassociation or disconnection from family history. Exclusivity or snobbery. Feeling like an alien. Feeling, or being, a stranger in a strange world. Orphans. Not knowing where one came from. Being stuck with people you don’t know. Examining roots. Missing identities. Skeletons in the closet. The family scapegoat.
Jupiter is retrograde on Aquarius 27: AN ANCIENT POTTERY BOWL FILLED WITH FRESH VIOLETS (this is the degree of the Sun every year on Valentine’s Day).
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to spread beauty and grace and purity of motive and feelings of contentment. The simpler, more natural responses to problems and society often bring us a sense of refreshment and realignment with what is beautiful. Complications are more easily solved if a fresh and simple approach is taken, rather than the more complicated, intellectual or highly charged emotional responses. This Symbol implies that by keeping your life pure and unclouded by bad news, negative emotions or thoughts, and maintaining a sense of hope and faith, you can not only be healthier, but bring joy to others.
Keywords: Returning to ancient sources. Flower and herbal remedies. Beauty. Setting standards for society. Slowing down the tempo to get to the purity of something. Watering the garden. The mortar and pestle. Homoeopathy and pharmacopoeia. Stains and dyes. Flowers. African violets. Dainty, small and lacy things. Antiques and curios. Beautiful reminders of yesterday. Valentine’s Day flowers, roses. Things that remind you of your grandmother. The old supporting and nourishing the new.
The Caution: Lack of subtlety. Insensitivity. Being dried up and withered from lack of water or emotion. Stagnant water. Being shy and unresponsive. “Shrinking violets”. Neglecting the small things. Being so accommodating that one’s needs are neglected or trodden on.
The Karmic Condition of Jupiter is Aquarius 26: A GARAGE MAN TESTING A CAR’S BATTERY WITH A HYDROMETER
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to pick up problems, to diagnose what might be wrong whether it’s mechanically, physically, spiritually or emotionally. The “Car” can be a car, or it can be your body; your earthly vehicle, and it may need some “Testing” to see how it’s coping with life’s pressures. You may need to use some type of gauge on your emotional reactions. There is often a need to take a more intuitive or psychic approach to problems, although an objective or inventive view will also bring results. Figure out any malfunctions so your life can proceed in a smoother, more efficient manner. Performing necessary checks and balances to ensure your life is working properly are part of the everyday maintenance of society.
Keywords: Testing the earthly vehicle for its roadworthiness. Situations that have “boiled-over”, bringing all to a stop. Breakdowns and the need for repair. Checking water levels. Anticipating future problems. The need for good batteries. Cars being serviced. Oil, petrol and grease. Check ups and tune-ups. Bringing forward movement to a halt.
The Caution: Causing distress by constantly analyzing people or situations. Bad breath or dry skin. Not taking time for repairs or tune-ups. Running on empty.
The Quest Degree of Jupiter is Aquarius 28: A TREE FELLED AND SAWED TO ENSURE A SUPPLY OF WOOD FOR THE WINTER
This Symbol shows the ability to, or the need to be able to take what’s available in the environment and use it to your advantage. “Trees” sawed into logs to “Ensure a Supply of Wood For the Winter” implies the ability to be able to plan, or think, ahead. By seeing what you’ll need in the future, you can work ahead of time to make sure there’s a good supply. There are many things that grow around us during life. Sometimes there can be other uses that are of greater benefit than just to let these things stand like monuments or memories. You may feel a need to sacrifice something old to find its current usefulness. Gather up resources when you can. Don’t wait until supply might not be so readily available.
Keywords: Gathering resources. Being prepared for harder times. Stocking up and stockpiling. Log cabins. Open fires. Care and reverence for things of wood and the earth. The making of paper. Dollar bills. The publishing of books. Renewable resources. Xmas trees. Axes and tools. Stores and provisions. Logging. Timber. Wood for burning. Oil, petrol, fuel of all kinds. Woodchips. Storage. Prepping.
The Caution: Hoarding supplies—not wanting anyone to get them. Destroying the old for modern advances. Feeling cut off at the knees. Being chopped down and stacked away somewhere. Fearing that there won’t be enough fuel, money, etc. for harder times. Nonrenewable resources. Wanton destruction and logging of the forests. Waste.
Saturn is retrograde on Aquarius 9: A FLAG IS SEEN TURNING INTO AN EAGLE
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to speak about your ideals and passions and to spread the message far and wide. You can have powerful messages of serious ideals, sometimes political, sometimes not. One can see a “Flag” and salute it, or not. It usually depends on what the flag is signifying. Your ideas, ideals, gifts, talents, inventions, realizations are all your “Flag”. To release these into the environment is the “Turning Into an Eagle”. It is the taking off and flying that allows the energy to be released. You may find that you are no longer just projecting an image, but true power. You could feel like you’ve been reborn – having had some amazing realization or insight.
Keywords: Turning away from having to prove oneself. Rising above the commonplace. Ascension. Rebirth. Homespun truth. Ideals that uplift and free. Shouting joy from the treetops. Boosts in self-esteem. Strength. Transformation. Plans taking shape. Power and might. Conveying images of strength and fidelity. Declaring visions and dreams. Totems. Throwing one’s weight around. Threatening others with loud displays of might. Bullying. Talking over the top of others. Not listening because of righteousness.
The Quest Degree of Saturn is Aquarius 10: A MAN WHO HAD FOR A TIME BECOME THE EMBODIMENT OF AN IDEAL IS MADE TO REALIZE THAT AS A PERSON THEY ARE NOT THIS IDEAL
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to recognize, or realize, when conditions are changing or when there’s a need to work on ourselves. It can imply having the ‘scales fall from your eyes’ about someone; you may have thought the world of them and then they are not the person you thought. You could wake up realizing that you’re not who or what you said or thought you were. Relationships may be left behind. The revelation can be amazing, but it requires accurately assessing what is and what isn’t the “Ideal”. Popular support does not always equate with depth of character and self-worth. Fleeting opportunities may present themselves. Be wary of committing before you understand what you’re dealing with.
Keywords: Staying true to oneself. Ideas that look great for a time, but lose their gloss. Lost opportunities. Waking up just in time. Depression. Self-esteem issues. Projections of personality. Not clearly seeing people. Realizing that people have changed. False expectations. Falling off the pedestal. Finding one’s core identity.

Uranus is retrograde on Taurus 15: A MAN WITH A SILK HAT, MUFFLED AGAINST THE COLD, BRAVES A STORM
This Symbol implies having to brave times of hardship and discomfort, while still having to remain confident and somewhat cheerful, even though one is unable to avoid the difficulty. There is the constant possibility of having to weather storms while maintaining that all will be ok in the end. Showing determination, confidence and hope for the future will help you move forward and it will encourage those around you at the same time. Wearing your best ‘outfit’ while showing a brave face will win the respect of others who may not be aware of how difficult things really can be for you.
Keywords: Inner poise being more important than outer appearances. Braving stormy weather. Ploughing on through difficulties. Being willing to weather storms and take on the hard times. Having tasks or errands to perform when one would rather not. Hats, scarves and muffles. Sudden change of circumstances.
The Caution: Not showing your true feelings. Superficial shows of strength. Not noticing things improving. Always battling the “elements”. Complaining and whining instead of getting on with the task at hand. Wanting to be pampered and not face up to life’s storms. Considering appearance before all else. Superficiality. Insufficient or inappropriate clothing or apparel. Refusing to protect one’s self from cold or harm.
Neptune is retrograde on Pisces 23: A ‘MATERIALIZING MEDIUM’ GIVING A SÉANCE
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to pick up subtle energies and psychic clues in the environment. The “Materializing Medium” can receive radiations, frequencies or vibrations that cannot easily be sensed by most people. You may be experiencing a surprising sensitivity and awareness to spiritual forces and energies. This can sometimes cause confusion, other times enlightenment. Sit with any new impressions you receive until you understand their authenticity or depth. Sometimes there is a need to free up ‘stuck’ or earthbound entities. This degree can also show someone who can “Materialize” things; they can make things happen just by thinking about or concentrating on them.
Keywords: Spiritual channeling. Efforts to materialize things. Coming straight out with things. Giving voice to spirit. Tarot readings, clairvoyance and clairsentience. Things seen ahead of their time. Bringing messages from the other side. Contacting the dead.

This Symbol speaks of the ability, or the need, to know how to appraise the worth of things, to be able to buy and sell and market products for sale in the marketplace. Taking pride in the products of your culture, and the buying and selling of useful and beautiful things is a responsible position, and the claims made about the products for sale have to be tried and true. There may be a feeling of needing to reassess your attitudes and ideals, particularly if there’s the desire to get the better of others. You may feel the need to work with the physical and mental practices of oriental traditions that are available.
Keywords: Refinement of cultural understanding and values. Appreciating excellence of quality. Always looking for a bargain. Buying things at bargain prices and selling them at higher prices. Bartering and trading. Charging a fair price. The sales pitch. Second hand goods. Marketing. Promotions. Sales. Discounts. Closing the sale. Being able to think on your feet.
The Caution: Bargaining only to personal advantage. Giving undue significance to unworthy goods. The archetypal “car salesman”. Talking to others merely to gain advantage. Not appreciating the value of one’s goods or culture.

This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, for spending time in contemplation and dedication to one’s spiritual life or to a higher cause. At times, you might have to drop the demands of society and the lower, base nature, in order to concentrate on more spiritual, higher, or meaningful things in life. There may be a need to get away from the pressures of society and more time contemplating your inner thoughts and values. This may be a lonely passage and you may be disenchanted with the pressures and ways of society. There needs to be times of inner work, just as for outer work. Dedicating oneself to the big picture can bring rewards, but hiding yourself away too much can lead to losses on many levels.

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon’s north node is Gemini 8: AROUSED STRIKERS SURROUND A FACTORY
This Symbol shows the need, or the desire, to be able to call a halt or go on strike when one feels hard done by or taken advantage of. You may need to stand up for your rights, or perhaps those of others. You have some support from compatriots, but you can become separated from the general situation and may have difficulty finding creative solutions that satisfy everyone. It may help to consider what negotiations can be made to bring things back to a feeling of equilibrium. By withdrawing your energies for a while you will see how important you really are in the situation.
Keywords: Bargaining to find more equitable solutions. Demanding better rights and conditions. Comradeship. Disruption of the normal flow. Not wanting to contribute or work. This Symbol shows the ability, or the possibility, of having a lot going on underneath the surface, often more than other people might suspect. It speaks of shifts, sometimes huge shifts, going on on a deep level, and these are not always evident. Often, changes are quietly happening and all of a sudden the changes are reflected on the outside through an event or a complete shift in attitude. There will be new responses to life coming from deep within your mind and soul. This creation of new and essential levels of awareness is a part of the natural result of inner changes. Although they may not be easy to observe, very strong fundamental changes are happening.
