August’s new Moon occurs on the 2nd in the US and the UK, and on the 3rd in Australia. It’s a very meaningful lunation, and one that is bound to bring all kinds of energies to the table. The new Moon is in a trine aspect with Saturn, which can have us feeling the need to get organised, to lighten our loads, to free up energies that have been seemingly stationary for some time. Saturn is stationing direct (it is turning direct in mid August), and is spending several days on Sagittarius 10: A Golden Haired Goddess Of Opportunity. For a start, this feels like the nomination of Hillary Clinton – it can also feel like Donald Trump, as his hair is often mentioned. Both candidates are certainly darlings of the media and get a lot of media attention. And, the media is often involved with this Symbol.

Saturn is in a square aspect with Neptune. This can bring us face-to-face with our dreams, illusions, ideals, etc, and there can be a feeling of crashing and burning – at least on some level. There can be a sense of dismay, depression even, and, we can feel like the world is going in ‘the wrong direction’. A realignment with ‘faith’, whatever that means to the individual, may be needed, along with the need to drop judgements, to drop the worrying, to lighten your load. One has to laugh, even if one wants to cry. Shattered illusions could have us wondering if things will ever get better and we may be wondering what is true and what is false. As always, it comes down to our perspective.

It seems that there is a lot of cognitive dissonance going on. We can be confronted withSword Swallower Truth Swallow sayinginformation and just not see it. It’s like so many are standing in the forest and not seeing the trees. It’s a very interesting time, and, it’s a stressful time, and, I sense that no one is immune to the shape-shifting that’s going on, in the political and social arenas, as well as in our emotions and personal lives. Soon, Mercury will come into the picture with Saturn, Neptune and the Moon’s nodes, adding to the sense of push-me pull-you that’s been going on. We may have to take off our blinders, to remove our ‘veil’ in order to see more clearly. Certainly, we will be pushed to make decisions and we might decide that some things need to be dropped from our lives, OR, we may have that decision made for us.

Adding to all of this is Venus and Mars squaring each other. At least Mars has left Scorpio, which is a relief, but, of course, it is heading for a conjunction with Saturn, again, and this can have us coming up against reality in a way that we may have suspected was going to happen, but, perhaps, we were hoping wasn’t. It’s all good, though, we continue to put one foot in front of the other and continue to move forward. :) (Read: no choice!).

Venus going through the last degrees of Leo can have us wondering where the fabulous relationship that we’ve been wanting or waiting for is. Perhaps, as we already know, it’s with ourselves :)

Adding to some of the frustrations that might be felt is Jupiter in a quincunx aspect with Uranus – it’s like ‘get me out of here’, and, yet, not being able to find the door, let alone the runway. Jupiter is moving into an opposition with Chiron, and this can signal the ending of some situations, relationships, dreams, etc, especially wit Jupiter on Virgo 25: A Flag At Half Mast In Front Of A Public Building and Chiron on Pisces 25: The Purging Of The Priesthood. We can see evidence of this already in the social and political lives of the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Turkey… so many places and situations around the world. = Interesting times!

Neptune is conjuncting the Moon’s south node. This can bring up all kinds of issues, karmic or otherwise, from the past. We may feel like we’re in a weird movie, and, perhaps we are. Releasing the ties that bind from the past, whether the are emotions , relationships, memories, traumas, dreams, etc. Of course, as mentioned above, Saturn is squaring squaring both Neptune and the Moon’s nodes, so, it’s probably a good idea to knuckle down, do the work and wait what might seem like a rough patch out.

Having said all of that (and, there’s always more to be said), we do have Mars going into Sagittarius, which, for sure, is going to feel better than it’s recent three month sojourn in Scorpio. Also, we do have a Leo new Moon here, and, although it does have it’s challenges, it surely speaks of having fun, lightening up, letting go, playing, being playful, being creative and all the wonderful things that Leo can bring us.

The new Moon each month marks a time of new beginnings and realisations. It’s like a birth after a time of gestation or being ‘in the womb’. Here, the light begins to return and we can see new beginnings and possibilities. A new Moon means that the Sun and the Moon are both together – bringing a synergy of their energies together. The new Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions for the future. This period is wonderful for planting seeds of whatever kind. What do you want to manifest in your future? Whether you write it down, sing about it or just hold the thought forms in your mind, doing this at the new Moon can realise some fabulous results around the things that you want to draw into your life.
