Just as there’s garbage that pollutes the Potomac River, there is garbage polluting our culture. We need an Environmental Protection Agency to clean it up. Patrick Buchanan

It is an ill bird that fouls its own nest. Romanian Proverb

SYLPH, n. An immaterial but visible being that inhabited the air when the air was an element and before it was fatally polluted with factory smoke, sewer gas and similar products of civilization. Ambrose Bierce

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty. Mahatma Gandhi

Lies, injustice, and hypocrisy are a part of every ordinary community. Most people achieve a sort of protective immunity, a kind of callousness, toward them. If they didn’t, they couldn’t endure. Nella Larsen

The Sagittarius full Moon occurs on June 9, and, it is one that can bring a lot of issues to the fore and give us a chance to clear away the old, outworn and no longer useful things in our lives. This full Moon is in a square aspect with Neptune, which can have us looking at our objectives, where we are and where we want to be going. We may find that some of the things we’ve been wanting to come into reality are not really good for us in the long run, perhaps not even in the short run. This square from Neptune is exact in the few days in the lead-up to the full Moon, so we can have some good realizations along the lines of what to pursue and what to drop.

Next, the Moon will conjunct Saturn, so some decisions can be made along these lines. Soon after the full Moon, the Moon trines the Moon’s north node, giving us an extra shot in the arm when it comes to making those steps that we want to make, and, it can bring some interesting and useful moves forward and contacts with others into our lives. Then, very soon after, the Moon trines Uranus, giving us those breakthroughs in understanding. It can also bring some big ‘aha moments’ where pennies just seem to drop, giving us the urge to pursue the new while dropping the old. So, even though this full Moon has a conjunction with Saturn, it does have some ‘outs’ in that the energies are lining up for us for some much needed changes.

Jupiter is stationary direct, which means that it is just about to go forward again after being retrograde since early February. If you’ve been feeling tired lately, like laying on the lounge and vegging out and not doing much, Jupiter could have been contributing to that. Either that, or, you might find that you’ve been working too hard, thinking too much, going and going a lot lately and now you need some time out. This shows up because Jupiter has been sitting for several days on Libra 14: THE NOON SIESTA degree. Jupiter appears to want us to slow down, to take some time for ourselves, to rearrange our priorities perhaps. Certainly, it can point to burn out and the need to regroup one’s energies. This prograde movement of Jupiter is ensuring that some of the things we’ve been wanting to pursue are now beginning to manifest more and more – we can have the wind at our back to push us forward in the coming weeks.

Venus is now in Taurus. This is a lovely placement for Venus, however, this full Moon can be about mourning, or, letting go of the past as Venus goes onto Taurus 5 very soon after the Moon is full – Taurus 5: A WIDOW KNEELS AT AN OPEN GRAVE, READY TO RECEIVE THE SECRET TO ETERNAL LIFE. This, again, brings up the issue of releasing things that are not working out for us. It could be a relationship that has reached it’s conclusion, a realization of what is and what isn’t possible (or desirable) now, or, it can have us breaking free of constraints that have been placed on us emotionally, mentally, physically, etc. Is it time to really bury the past now? It can be as simple as imagining yourself conclusively dropping any stories that are no longer relevant. Venus here can work wonders to move us into a new life, a new reality, a new sense of relationship, a renewed sense of worth, etc.

Further pushing us to analyse how things are working out is Uranus on Aries 28: A LARGE DISAPPOINTED AUDIENCE. This can have the feeling that things are Large Disappointed Audience
too hard, difficult, or, that things are not panning out as you would like them to. However, it is by changing the messages you pay attention to, or those that you give out to the world that you can move through any sense of ‘disappointment’ and change your ‘audience’ into having a better vibration. This feeling of disappointment can also come from world events where we feel as though we are witnessing things we would rather not. I think that for many, less watching of the news and more listening to things that calm and soothe and inspire is the better agenda. Uranus is on this ‘audience’ degree until June 28, so we may be experiencing this for some weeks. It’s all good, though, as we are, again, being shown where we might feel let down and where we can change that tune.

Worldwide, it seems we have the issue of ‘fake news’ versus ‘real news’. Mercury on Gemini 5: THE RADICAL MAGAZINE DISPLAYS A SENSATIONAL FRONT PAGE may be pointing us towards making those decisions around what is really worthwhile listening to. Decisions made may also have to be announced to others in some way. Mercury can have things overstated on this degree, so it pays to be discerning about what you both hear and say.

Adding to the feeling of needing to watch our thoughts is Neptune on Pisces 15: AN OFFICER DRILLING HIS MEN IN A SIMULATED ATTACK. This degree, especially with Neptune sitting stationary retrograde on it, can have us worrying about what might happen – it can be a ‘the sky is falling’ type of energy. It also shows the attacks (on many fronts, in many ways) that are happening on a world level; it can show terror attacks, gun violence and general mayhem. Ramping up the fear is coming from our media, and, we have talk of things such as tighter control of the internet and more and more loss of our individual freedoms. We can, of course, rise above this, and, this is largely the message of Neptune on this degree: Not listening to the monkey-mind of concern and fear is a good way forward with this placement.

Getting organised and freeing up our energies is shown with Saturn and Uranus in a grand trine with the Moon’s north node – all in fire signs. This can bring a sense of liberation and renewal, a regaining of belief and inspiration, and, plans can be implemented and one can become more organised with this energy, especially if you’re following your true heart’s desire. This is, of course, always important, but, especially now.

There’s more that can be said about all of this, but, it is covered in the list of Sabian Symbols for the planets below.

The full Moon each month marks a time of heightened energies and events. It often marks the culmination of the energies released at the new Moon. Emotions can be supercharged as the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac and illumination is increased – it’s like we can see in the dark – and we can be hyper-aware as well as being hyper-awake. The effects of a full Moon can be major or minor, depending on how they interact with your own chart. Sometimes, realisations or events that are unleashed, or unlocked, can stretch their meaning months into the future. A lot can be learned at the time of the full Moon and whether it’s lunacy or illumination, or a combination of both, there’s magic unleashed with every full Moon.

The full Moon is on Sagittarius 19: PELICANS, DISTURBED BY THE GARBAGE OF PEOPLE, MOVE THEIR YOUNG TO A NEW HABITAT – we are seeing more and more talk, interest and concern about environmental factors lately. And, this full Moon comes on the heels of the U.S. pulling out of the Paris Accord. This Symbol, especially with a full Moon on it, can signify the desire to move, to get away from ‘polluting’ or negative factors, to protect our young perhaps (and this can be our family and loved ones, of course, but it can also be about our creative life…)

The following is from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom

Commentary: ‘Pelicans Disturbed By the Garbage of People Move Their Young to a New Habitat’. ‘Pelicans’ in Christian art are a symbol of charity; they are also an emblem of Jesus Christ by “whose blood we are healed’”. This comes from the myth that ‘Pelicans’ feed their young with their blood which arose from the fact that the parent ‘Pelican’ transfers softened food from the large bag under its bill to its ‘Young’.

Oracle: This Symbol often pictures the realization that conditions are changing and you, your family (and sometimes friends) don’t feel safe and secure in your environment. You may need to move to a new situation that can provide a better way of life with more nourishment and less danger. This can also refer to an inner withdrawal from situations that feel threatening or unsure. It can be a case of having to leave homes, places or people that have outlived their usefulness or relevance in your life. A change of heart and mind can lead to new beginnings, with the past being left behind. Pollution or ‘Garbage’ on any level can lead to a sense of unease in one’s environment and the fear of how one can cope in the future. There may be a need to actually pick up one’s possessions and move out of the path of some form of danger. If your environment is “polluted” by negative people, attitudes or some other form of debilitation or ‘Garbage’, is it worth staying there? Are threats being taken seriously enough? This “danger” can manifest on any level; physical, emotional or spiritual. It can erupt as psychic or emotional outbursts that can be threatening or toxic; rubbish that is difficult to contain, manage or maneuver around. If you don’t feel safe in your environment, how can you expect you and yours to grow and flourish?

Keywords: Concerns with survival. The endeavor to achieve mental, physical or emotional well-being or peace. Noise and other irritants that make life difficult. Looking out for the safety and security of one’s children, home or creative ventures. Feeling unsafe. Conditions being insecure and unpredictable. Having nowhere to rest. Climate change, environmental pollution. The need to change or improve one’s environment.

The Caution: Mess and rubbish left around. Not being prepared to compromise or cohabit. People not being able to live together. Fouling of one’s nest. Things are being done “for your own good” regardless of what you want. Noise driving people out. Leases running out.

The Karmic Degree for the Moon is Sagittarius 18: TINY CHILDREN PLAYING IN SUNBONNETS – this Symbol can show the need for care, security and protection of youngsters. It can also show the need to shield children and young people from the glare of the sun, or, from environmental factors that can be dangerous or unsettling. This degree heightens the message of The Pelicans at this full Moon; we want to feel safe, that we, and those around us, can live, work and play with a feeling of safety and purity.

Tiny Children in Sun BonnetsThis degree speaks of providing protection for youngsters and children, giving them safety and security and sheltering from the harsher aspects of life. It may, at times, be a tiring responsibility as you have to be watchful for slipups when the protection may fall away – leaving those that should feel shielded open to the elements and the damaging aspects of the environment and society. At times, people can be overprotected, but it is most likely for their own good. Don’t be distracted by efforts being made on your behalf; sometimes we need to be shielded by others from harmful elements. Remember to play and have fun, but don’t let people hoodwink you or pull the wool over your eyes.

Keywords: Care taken with small beginnings. Protection or blinkering? Propaganda that hides more severe life realities. Censorship. Innocence. Being treated like a child. Mollycoddling. Sunblocks and sunscreens. Screens that filter.

The Caution: Overprotection by institutionalized procedures that can lead to not being able to see the whole picture. “Organized religion” and it’s blinding of society to the true joy within and without. Infantile behavior. Being left in the dark without a clue as to what’s going on. Naivety. Being overshadowed by ego. Abuse and neglect

The Quest Degree for the Moon is Sagittarius 20: IN WINTER PEOPLE CUTTING ICE FROM A FROZEN POND, FOR SUMMER USE

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer. Albert Camus

This Symbol speaks of the need for planning ahead. The people “In Winter” are “Cutting Ice From a Frozen Pond” – they know that they’ll need the ice for summer – they are thinking ahead so they can have what they need at the right time. Like these people, you’ll have what you need if you allow for shifts in time and seasonal variations. Also, you may feel that you have lost touch with your emotions by creating a barrier, coming up with “Frozen” responses. This barrier can be overcome without great difficulty, just a little planning and action, and probably, a desire to work with others to build for your future.

Keywords: Overcoming difficulties ahead of time through creative solutions to problems. Strategies for survival in harder times. Stocking up and storing supplies. Savings and funds. Pension plans. Retirement plans. Work and renovation. Planning for changes in external or internal realities. Seeing shortages ahead of time. Snow. Ice. Freezing conditions. Divorce settlements.

The Caution: Stoic acceptance of difficulties. Not seeing ahead of the times. Failing to plan for the future and just hoping that it will work out. Sitting on your hands instead of working for future possibilities. People storing up hurts or insults for later. Extortion.

The Moon symbolizes: Emotions, moods, mother, family, clan, domestic issues, relationship to home and country. Feelings, sentiments, nourishment, emotional nurturing, monkey chatter mind, lunar and menstrual cycles, clarity of emotions or lunacy. Female energy – yours and others.

The Sun is on Gemini 19: IN A MUSEUM A LARGE ARCHAIC VOLUME REVEALS A TRADITIONAL WISDOM

Book in a museumThis Symbol speaks of knowledge and wisdom coming through from those who went before. In a progressive world we look so often for new ideas and new solutions and traditional wisdom is nowadays often ignored. Many old traditions may no longer be relevant to the present but ‘Traditional Wisdom’ is something we can often benefit from. You may be experiencing intuitive wisdom outside of your own experience and potential. This wisdom is inherent in us all and needs merely to be tapped to be understood. Learn from the best of the past. The truths held there are worthy and valuable to you in the now.

Keywords: Reading and learning. Collective knowledge coming from ancient sources. Enormous potential to be tapped. The Akashic records. Astrology. The Bible. Learning from the victories and mistakes of the past. Old stories that come out of the past or are hard to forget. Shamanic knowledge. Learning from heritage. The roots of civilization. Books. Ancient sources of information. The mysteries. Being in the public domain.

The Caution: Not understanding wise messages or advice. Being caught up in accepting only what tradition dictates. Old fashioned rules of “the book”. Old and outdated laws.

The Sun symbolizes: One’s core center, spirit, heart, issues to do with father, men, self, ego, your male side. How you radiate your sense of being. What others see, how you are recognized or remembered, sense of identity and connection with male energy – yours and others.

Mercury is on Gemini 5: A RADICAL MAGAZINE OR PUBLICATION, ASKING FOR ACTION, DISPLAYS A SENSATIONAL FRONT PAGE – more ‘fake’ news? Or, with Mercury on this degree, there may be ‘news’, announcements, realisations or declarations that need not only to be made, but to be paid attention to (or not, sometimes it’s just loud noise).

My sources are unreliable, but their information is fascinating. Ashleigh Brilliant

This Symbol speaks of calling for or being motivated for change. Revolution and revolutionaries come in all shapes and sizes; some instigate major changes in society, others are more into bucking the system and creating mini reforms in their own back yards. Although you may not be absolutely sure which direction to take, you are likely to be broadcasting your messages. Look further within for the change in direction you need. Dramatizing one’s situation can lead to overreaction, but doing nothing can lead to inertia and things staying exactly the same. Listening may be important.

Keywords: Speaking one’s mind. Messages and news that awakes or shocks. The need for reform. Challenging outlooks. Breaking out of constraints. The media. Issues of propaganda. Headlines that promise more than they deliver. Revolutions. Social or emotional causes. Conspiracy theories. Printing presses. Publishing. Publicity. Gaining attention. Speaking one’s truth without fear of consequences.

The Caution: Being argumentative. Arousing others for selfish reasons. Distortions of the truth. Misinformation and disinformation. Getting the whole picture wrong. Exploitation of situations. Overstating messages. Biased information. Old and outworn news

The Karmic Degree for Mercury is Gemini 4: HOLLY AND MISTLETOE BRING CHRISTMAS SPIRIT TO A HOME

This Symbol speaks of sharing the joys of family and celebrations. There regularly comes a time when we need to reconnect with loved Holly and Mistletoeones, family, or, in a larger sense, humanity, to discover the strengths and joys in the cultural and religious bonds that hold us together. Even though we may live our lives primarily as separate entities, this bond can serve to strengthen each and every participant. Remembering each other periodically helps to keep our connections strong and it reinforces our sense of spirit and belonging.

Keywords: Social celebrations of the spirit. Returning to basic joys. Remembering past celebrations of family and social cohesion. Kissing under the mistletoe. Simple gestures that remind us of larger realities. Warmth, joy and anticipation. The Festive Season. The spirit of special occasions.

The Caution: The use of superficial tricks. Performances to achieve the appearance of happiness or familial ties. Neglecting family. Excluding others because of religious beliefs. Rituals that have no depth or true meaning. Loneliness. Not being in the spirit of things. Having too much to do. The Silly Season. Scrooge mentalities that don’t want to know about family and celebrations.

The Quest Degree for Mercury is Gemini 6: WORKMEN DRILLING FOR OIL – oil, coal, mining, etc, are keywords of this Symbol, but, it can also show the desire to ‘drill’ into something, to get to the bottom of an issue, to find joy and nourishment in the depths of people, situations, understandings…

The weak shall inherit the earth, but not the mineral rights. J. Paul Getty

This Symbol shows the talent, desire, ability or the necessity of digging deep in order to find something or to make a big strike. Ambition in the pursuit of material or spiritual wealth can bring wonderful rewards to the surface. There’s a feeling of wanting to reach into or understand the depths of an issue. This entails a certain amount of risk and may require the cooperation of others who have skills in such a search. The rewards are often difficult to find and at times unsuccessful, however, perseverance will bring some kind of success. You may have to get used to operating in the dark.

Keywords: Pursuit of material or spiritual wealth. Ambition. The drive to plumb the depths. Trying to get to the bottom of things. Opportunistic attitudes. Making a fortune through other’s resources. Psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. Dream analysis. Explorations, past life or present. Dependence on wealth. Research. Exploring answers. Oil and oil wells. Drills and equipment. Searching for a reward.

The Caution: Putting a great deal of effort into risky activities for uncertain returns. Unceasing work. Hoping to just “strike it rich”. Neglecting friends and loved ones. Focusing too deeply on a goal. Being opportunistic and looking for the “lucky strike”. Relying on others to come up with the goods. Gold diggers and opportunists. Exploiting resources. Depression. Digging into people’s private matters.

Mercury symbolizes: Mind, thought, communication, memory, expression, intelligence. News, exchanges, chatting, conversations, short journeys, connections with others, telephones, emails, siblings, neighbors, the reasoning mind. Day-to-day activities. Cars, keys, small animals.

Venus is on Taurus 4: THE POT OF GOLD AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW

I have been in Sorrow’s kitchen and licked out all the pots. Then I have stood on the peaky mountain wrapped in rainbows, with a harp and sword in my hands. Zora Neale Hurston

This Symbol speaks about connecting your inner thoughts with your rational conscious mind so you can communicate the feelings you wish to share. Like the The Pot Of Gold At The End Of The Rainbow ‘Rainbow’, this is not really about the elusive ‘Pot of Gold’ at its end, but rather it speaks of the wonder the rainbow creates as it links heaven and earth. Rewards will come from creative efforts built on talent and application. Good things sometimes just fall out of nowhere.

Keywords: The promise of riches, in whatever forms these may take. Creative imagination. Goals and ambitions. Alchemy. Splashes of color. Rewards contained. The search for the treasure. Seeking communion with nature and life’s bounty. Wealth derived from changing perspective. Talent and beauty. Fantasies. Illusions vs. reality. Fairylands. A golden key will open every lock. Yiddish Proverb

The Caution: Seeking easy, tempting solutions. Thinking that rewards are always just “over the horizon”. Thinking that one is never going to get near “it”. Elusive success. Forgetting the more immediate things in life. Seeking perfection. Castles in the air. Pipe dreams. Fool’s paradise.

The Karmic Degree for Venus is Taurus 3: NATURAL STEPS UP TO A LAWN BLOOMING WITH CLOVER – Venus on this degree can speak about how making even a small amount of effort to get to where or what you want in life, you can surely do it. This is a particularly beautiful degree, especially as it is followed by The Pot Of Gold At The End Of The Rainbow.

CloverThis Symbol often shows comfort, luxury, riches, beauty and the good things in life. It implies that a time of fulfillment is close by, but there often is still some small effort to be made in that one has to take the simple steps towards inviting wonderful things into your life. Keep going the way you are, following your natural intuition, and you will find the peace you have in sight. Just be aware not to become complacent or lazy as doing nothing and not putting any effort in could lead to great possibilities slipping away.

Keywords: Hopefulness. Inspirational possibilities. Gradually enlarging one’s vision. Harmony. Seasonal changes. Running around on grass. Bare feet. The beauty of greenery and flowers. Stability on the path. Steps that invite one on to bigger and better things. Abundance, nourishment. Making small efforts that can lead to large returns. Places to spread out and relax. Having plenty of room to move. Gardens and parks.

The Caution: Looking for the easy way out. Not making the effort to find what is just a few steps away. Being lazy when one should be going for the objective. Temporary success. Expecting everything to be laid out before you. Weeds. Unkempt lawns. Neglected land.

The Quest Degree for Venus is Taurus 5: A YOUTHFUL WIDOW, FRESH AND SOUL-CLEANSED FROM GRIEF, KNEELS AT AN OPEN GRAVE TO RECEIVE THE SECRET OF ETERNAL LIFE – this Symbol has been around quite a lot lately, especially as it is the degree that Mercury went retrograde on recently.

This Symbol speaks of things from the past that sometimes block progress in the present or for the future. Don’t let loss beckon you to Widow At An Open Grave sayinggive up and throw everything away. There must always be a time to grieve, but what is lost is lost and cannot be regained by losing yourself. Know when it’s time to fill in the grave and let go, whether it’s literally letting go of people who have passed away or have disappeared from your life, in order to move on. Gather up your energies and move towards new objectives letting go of the old.

Keywords: Gradual realization of the illusion of matter. Letting go of that which no longer works. Purging and burning the past. Giving up past grievances. The passage of grief. Receiving the gifts that loss and separation can bring through time. Grief, divorce, loss. Redundancies. Near-death experiences. Inheritances.

The Caution: Wasting time staring at lost opportunities. Grudges and bad feelings that last much longer than needed. Staring at issues of loss and death. War and its horrors. The feeling that one has no future. People or events that just won’t leave one’s memory. Hanging on for fear of the future. Empty legacies. Deserted cities and civilisations.

Venus symbolizes: Relatedness, cooperation, what attracts you. The experience of sweetness, beauty or delight. Social interactions, love, friends, how you reach out to people. Feminine persona, relationship with mother and females. Money, possessions, sense of values.

Mars is on Cancer 4: A CAT ARGUING WITH A MOUSE – this Symbol is not an easy one, especially with Mars here, and, on the degree following, the Railroad Crossing degree. Both of these degrees can bring up arguments, bickering, and, stories going around and around in our minds.

Cat-Arguing-With-a-MouseThis Symbol often implies arguing, taking on opponents regardless of size and the ability to win, and, sometimes, being unable to let things just be. Along with bullying, this can show bickering, which is time consuming, often immature and useless. What is the central issue around what’s going on and what are the old values that require reassessment? There is an imbalance at work. There can be a desire to justify to the other what should be done and why. This Symbol can show a selfless advocate for the underdog; prepared to protect others. Try to stop useless mental monkey chattering.

Keywords: Aggressively and actively taking advantage of situations or people. Hide and go seek games. Aggression vs. innocence. Harassment. Standing up for one’s self. The David and Goliath story. Questioning established power structures. Looking out for one’s best interests. Shock and fear. Cats. Mice. Hiding. Waiting.

The Caution: Time-wasting arguments and bickering. Being aggressive because one can. Picking on those smaller. Fighting dirty. Being patronizing. Power trips. Hiding away to avoid being targeted. Feeling like someone’s prey. Feeling victimized and bullied. Antagonism. Unfair battles. Those who think they know more. Mental, physical or emotional torment. Beating yourself up.

The Karmic Degree for Mars is Cancer 3: AN ARCTIC EXPLORER LEADS A REINDEER THROUGH ICY CANYONS

This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, of plowing on through cold or difficult times by facing up to difficulties with a brave attitude and a determination to get through them. By adapting to changing needs and constantly aware of difficulties, success can be achieved. You probably need to persevere and progress slowly. There is really no possibility of stopping or slowing down too much as the situation could freeze-up. You may be surprised by “icy” feelings and cold responses. Although you have the natural elements to help, it is more a time of struggling through unusual difficulties than trying to create a particular appearance. Using animal instincts to get through tough times. Facing bad weather and hardship. Following the leader without knowing where one is going. Unfamiliar surroundings.

Keywords: Using animal instincts to get through tough times. Facing bad weather and hardship. Following the leader without knowing where one’s going. Unfamiliar surroundings. The point of no return. Being in a cul-de-sac. Being led around by the hand (or the nose). Treading carefully. Icebergs. Glaciers. Snow and ice. Risky ventures. The Titanic story.

The Caution: Taking those unfamiliar to the situation and unwittingly heading towards danger. Putting one’s self through hard times when it’s avoidable. Restrictive outlooks on life. Frozen responses. Frigidity. Feeling lost, alone, frozen with fear or forsaken. Willingly going the hard way. Lack of provisions.

The Quest Degree for Mars is Cancer 5: AT A RAILROAD CROSSING, A CAR RACES WITH A TRAIN – this can be quite a confronting Symbol, but, it doesn’t have to be. It can indicate getting in the way of others, in the way of society, colliding with reality and getting ‘wrecked’, but, it can also indicate the need, the desire, the rewards, etc, of taking on society, going your own way, and not just being a member of the pack. The trick is not to push to the point of being derailed from your objectives or hurting yourself or others. There may be a need to slow down, check out the lay of the land and proceed slowly. Of course, we are seeing this degree playing out politically where one person, group or endeavour, goes against the grain and upsets others by their unpredictable or rebellious behaviour.

Cover me, I’m changing lanes. Bumper sticker

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road. Bumper Sticker

Everything is energy in motion. Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan

I couldn’t repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder. Bumper sticker

Car Wrecked By A TrainThis Symbol implies the desire, or the ability, to compete with or take on society as if life were a race or something to be conquered. The ‘Car’ is a vehicle for the individual and the ‘Train’ a vehicle for the masses. There is often a need for caution; the individual will not always survive a collision with the more powerful collective. It may not work to be insisting bravely that your individual needs should be considered. The collective has too much momentum. If someone pits themselves and their energies continually against society, sooner or later they are likely to lose.

Keywords: Not looking to the consequences of actions. Recklessly going for an objective. Not considering the ramifications. Lots of people causing problems with scheduling. Having the guts to go against society. Cars, trains. Individual rights. Rebelling. Crossroads. The need for good timing.

The Caution: Recklessness. Sacrificing individuals for larger gains. Working until one drops. Not looking left or right for possible trouble. Going in the wrong direction. Working at cross-purposes. Not nourishing one’s self. Putting the desire for gain before one’s more basic personal needs. Valuing possessions before people. Talking so no one gets a word in. Going off the rails. Upsetting or obstructing others. Wreckage. Emotional panic. Spinning out of control.

Mars symbolizes: Drive, determination or agenda, how you get to your goals. How you express and handle anger, ambition, assertion of self and ability to step forward. The male principle, sexuality, the ability to step up to the plate when one needs to. Fight or flight.

Jupiter is stationary direct on Libra 14: IN THE HEAT OF THE NOON, A PERSON TAKES A SIESTA – Jupiter has been on this degree for some weeks as it’s been stationing here before going direct again after months of retrograde motion. With Jupiter here, I have heard of many people who are bone-tired, wanting to lay on the lounge or stare into space. It can also be a degree of working too hard, not getting enough sleep, or, it can show the need for a holiday! Whether you get one or not, even with Jupiter there, this can be a time to slow down, smell the roses and think carefully before pushing forward with your objectives.

This Symbol speaks of taking a rest when one needs to. At times, you may feel the need to take a break even though you are in the middle of a situation. To relax and recuperate will often serve to give you greater strength to complete the task at hand, also, being always on the go can be rather wearying. However, being lazy and unproductive is not the answer either. Taking a “Noon Siesta” can end up meaning taking hours and hours off work and not managing to make progress or get anywhere. Striking a balance between working too hard and not working hard enough is definitely the key.

Keywords: Meditation. The need to take time out. Sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. Midday rushes. Recuperating or laziness. Hammocks. Long lunch hours. Rejuvenation. Knowing when to call a halt. Taking breaks. Looking after one’s health. Tiredness and yawning. Hot and demanding days leading to inertia or exhaustion. Dreams and fantasies.

The Caution: Wasting time. Being disinterested in things. Losing energy or interest when one should be at the peak of activity or achievement. Refusing to take a break. Going past the bounds of what should be done. Working so hard that one is forced to stop through exhaustion or ill-health. Always being on the go while others sit back and enjoy. Losing one’s grip on reality. Unwinding after toil or trouble. Withdrawal.

Jupiter symbolizes: The big picture, expansion, exploration, aspirations, religious and philosophical ideals, issues to do with traveling, foreign lands, people and traditions, culture, education, generosity, luck, abundance, support, optimism. Insight through knowledge and wisdom.

Saturn is retrograde on Sagittarius 25: A CHUBBY LITTLE RICH BOY RIDES UPON A HOBBYHORSE – this Symbol, especially with Saturn on it, can talk about wanting to do what you want to do without fear nor favour. It can also talk about the desire to follow one’s own heart and promptings from one’s true center. Saturn here, of course, can bring up issues to do with those who don’t live up to their responsibilities – those who don’t fulfill their duties, slack off and do whatever suits them, often regardless of how it effects others. It can also show the need or the desire to follow your heart’s desires, even if you have to go without some of the rewards of playing the game ‘by the rules’.

Nothing is so hard for those who abound in riches to conceive how others can be in want. Jonathan Swift

Well, you know when you’re rocking in a rocking chair, and you go so far that you almost fall over backwards, but at the last instant you catch yourself? That’s how I feel all the time. Stephen Wright

BOY ON HOBBY HORSEThis Symbol shows someone who has everything in life playing and enjoying doing whatever they want in a safe and comfortable atmosphere – the ‘Boy’ does something he feels like doing, something easy and natural. He plays and may not be thinking too much about what’s going on in the real world as he is shielded from the more harmful elements of society because he is ‘Rich’. You may feel that you are doing what is necessary, but this is more like a training situation and will lead to greater ability in the future, although you should watch out for the propensity to be ‘flogging a dead horse’. Practice and play, but one day you’re going to have to prove yourself in a more rigorous, demanding situation. Protected practice. Imaginative play. Going on and on about something. Hobbies. Playtime. Toys being provided. Exercise. Boys and their toys. Unrestrained passions.

Keywords: Hobbies and their pleasures. Unrestrained, imaginative play that can lead to truly wonderful creations, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Protected practice. Having to have one’s sexual needs fulfilled before one loses energy. Exercise, doing something because one can. Constantly going off on distracting schemes. Boys and their toys. Unrestrained passion.

The Caution: Someone spoilt and shallow. Feeling that one can take on anything without thought of the actual consequences. Playing when one should be more serious about life. Not doing one’s work, avoiding it by doing ‘fun’ things instead. Having no friends to play with.

Saturn symbolizes: Authority, rules, discipline and obligation The heavy stuff. What we fear, loss, karma, aging, the establishment, orthodoxy, tradition, status, the concept of time, walls, boundaries, limits, older people, restrictions, patience, conquering difficulties.

Uranus is on Aries 28: A LARGE DISAPPOINTED AUDIENCE

This Symbol shows a sense of being an observer or a spectator, sometimes more than being a participant. You may have an inner critic that analyses things. In fact you might feel as though you, or someone else, have failed and left something wanting. But how much is this because too much was expected in the first place? The ‘Audience’ sometimes only remembers the last performance, so get up and try again. Be aware that you may be your own ‘audience’. Do you feel that things have or haven’t lived up to expectations? Are you missing out through negative projections? Perhaps your need to feel satisfied, to perform or be fulfilled should be more realistic.

Keywords: Adjustments of expectations bringing realizations about what is really possible. Expecting the response of others. Walking out during a performance. Not listening to something through a lack of interest. Anticipating a different result from what is delivered. Relying on feedback. Lines and queues of people. Criticism. The need to inspire and enthuse.

The Caution: Feeling sad, sorry or letdown because of defeat and frustration. A lot of people left feeling emotionally “wiped-out”. Shattering of illusions. Fickleness. The attitude that one can’t do anything. Everything being out of one’s control. Watching what’s going on and not participating. Being at the mercy of the whims and fancies of others. Judging and analyzing oneself or others. Too many people crammed into one spot. Not getting a seat. Refusal of entry. Booing and hissing.

Uranus symbolizes: The unexpected, things that are individual or ‘different’. Charged, energetic dynamics, electricity, light, lightning bolts, sudden changes, those who live on the fringe of society. Sudden turns and twists of fate. Rebellion, surprises, liberation, freedom.

Neptune is stationary and about to go retrograde on Pisces 15: AN OFFICER DRILLING HIS MEN IN A SIMULATED ATTACK

Simulated AttackThis shows being well rehearsed, prepared and ready for anything that life throws at you. When you’re well rehearsed, you are able to spring to attention when situations warrant it. You may feel that you need to rehearse or prepare for difficult situations. There is wisdom in practicing to reduce the chance of error or failure. However, are you going over and over possible positive or negative outcomes thereby losing the joy that can be found in relaxing and letting down your guard? Sometimes the things we think are going to happen don’t happen at all. Choosing where, when and how to be ready and willing to go for objectives is half the battle.

Often, the “Child” gets these responsibilities because they are the one who others know is going to take it seriously, completing the task, taking care of details. You may feel that you have been burdened with responsibilities beyond normal expectations and possibly beyond your capability. Despite being keen and enthusiastic, you must be careful not to try to take on too much, or do too much, or too quickly. Like a child, you need to play, be creative and rest.

You probably have the ability to break situations down into the simplest components in order to see the full picture. This can and often does lead to a greater understanding of the relationship between the whole and the many parts. Just be careful not to overanalyze, thereby losing the joy that’s inherent in the simplicities of life. Taking a single vision and turning it into many individual streams can be rewarding, but it can also confuse and distract.

The Moon’s South Node is on Aquarius 27: AN ANCIENT POTTERY BOWL FILLED WITH FRESH VIOLETS

An Ancient Pottery Bowl Filled With VioletsThis Symbol shows the need to spread beauty and grace and purity of motive and feelings of contentment. The simpler, more natural responses to problems and society often bring us a sense of refreshment and realignment with what is beautiful. Complications are more easily solved if a fresh and simple approach is taken, rather than the more complicated, intellectual or highly charged emotional responses. The Moon’s South Node symbolizes: Past karmic patterns to be overcome, can be habits that are good, but can describe things, relationships, issues that you need to let go of, or, hold you back from manifesting your true destiny. Relationships that feel karmic and difficult, memories from the past.
