How forcible are right words! But what doth your arguing reprove? The Bible
The new Moon occurring on July 23 is the first of two new Moons in Leo, with the second one being the big solar eclipse on August 21. So, there is a rather large emphasis on Leo over the coming month, and, this new Moon is another powerful one. Closely conjunct Mars, it has a rather explosive quality to it, and, not just because Mars is right on top of it, the Sabian Symbols for the new Moon and Mars are also somewhat explosive also.
The conjunction of the new Moon with Mars is indicating that, in many ways, we are being challenged to keep our cool, count to ten and endeavor to think before we speak or take action. There can be a lot of ‘flying off the handle’ with this collision (or collusion?) between the Sun, the Moon and Mars, and, the Symbols are asking us to be a bit more mindful of our responses and reactions. Of course, as always, a lot can be achieved if we assess situations in order to see what the best course of action is: We can achieve a great deal with concentrated, focused attention. The trick is that we might get reactions from people, especially if there’s a lot of ‘projection’ going on (people throwing around energies rather than working at containing them).
In amongst all that energy is the somewhat more sober Venus/Saturn opposition. Venus’ message is one of ‘going on strike’, or, refusing to toe the line, especially if others are expecting too much. Saturn seems to be asking what credentials we, or others, have to be doing what we do, saying what we might be saying, making claims for things that may not be within our abilities, etc. Saturn is on an interesting degree that speaks about ‘having the paperwork’, the ‘cred’, the official pass’ to be doing what we want to be doing, going where we want to be going, moving into the spheres that we want to be occupying. Saturn is on the ‘Immigrants’ degree, and, we are likely to be seeing a lot more about migrants, refugees, or, who belongs where and why. With Venus and Saturn opposing each other, we may let go of some things, some relationships, some issues to do with the past, etc, especially if we feel a sense of burden, or, that you (or the other) have outgrown situations and want to move on.
We also have a wonderfully (potentially) productive grand trine between Mercury, the Moon’s north node, Saturn and Uranus, all in fire signs. With this energy, we can make some moves or decisions that move us past the past and into new and more productive arenas in our lives. This can be a very freeing energy, as long as we concentrate on our own objectives and aren’t responding to those who might perhaps just have their heads exploding with the new Moon/Mars impulsive influences.
With all the rather incendiary energies of Mars in this new Moon, we would do well to avoid arguments about religion, politics, ethics, or, trivial issues in our lives. Arguments can get out of control very quickly, especially as we have a closing square between Jupiter and Pluto. Jupiter’s message at this point could be seen to be one of rebuilding, renovation, repairs, and, in amongst it restraint, but, Pluto’s placement on the ‘British Warship’ degree could see some becoming belligerent, and, forgetting their boundaries.
All in all, this could be an exciting and productive new Moon, especially if we rein in our energies and direct our efforts to productive outcomes!

There’s more that can be said about all of this, but, it is covered in the list of Sabian Symbols for the planets below.

The new Moon each month marks a time of new beginnings and realisations. It’s like a birth after a time of gestation or being ‘in the womb’. Here, the light begins to return and we can see new beginnings and possibilities. A new Moon means that the Sun and the Moon are both together – bringing a synergy of their energies together. The new Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions for the future. This period is wonderful for planting seeds of whatever kind. What do you want to manifest in your future? Whether you write it down, sing about it or just hold the thought forms in your mind, doing this at the new Moon can realise some fabulous results around the things that you want to draw into your life
New Moon:   Jul 23, 2017   9:45 am GMT

The New Moon is on Leo 1: UNDER EMOTIONAL STRESS, BLOOD RUSHES TO A MAN’S HEAD – the following is my interpretation for this degree from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom – this Symbol doesn’t necessarily have to be as ‘bad’ or confronting as it might sound. We could have an explosion of ideas, be surprised by something really good, or, we might learn from our, or others, emotional reactions. However, it can be asking us to take note of how we react.

Under Emotional Stress Blood Rushes To A Man's HeadCommentary: ‘Under Emotional Stress, Blood Rushes To a Man’s Head’ is what happens when a situation arises which fires up one’s mind and emotions quickly and suddenly. This can lead to anger, but it can also lead to being stuck in a sequence of emotional reactions. If this ‘Emotional Stress’ proves to be embarrassing, it can lead to blushing, which can be hard to conceal.

Oracle: There may be nothing that can be done at the moment. It’s like being immobilized with neither mental nor physical control. Resistance may just make the situation worse. Don’t panic, though—this will not last forever. When emotions or ambitions take over there is a need to put extra energy into thinking everything through with a calm frame of mind. However, when you’re under ‘Stress’ it is often difficult, if not impossible, to settle down and think rationally. When temper erupts it works against the mind from settling down. If you restrict or ignore your frustrations and anxieties your situation could blow out of control. It is important to recognize whether you’re reacting to a situation because it bothers you, or whether it’s because you’re generally going through a stressful time. Be careful not to explode every time you are under some kind of duress, as this can create a “cranky” type of person who is unbearable unless circumstances are smooth and calm. At the very least it is important to notice what the underlying problems are that are bringing things to a head. What is the real problem? If someone explodes every time there is some emotional stress it can become a habit. Consequently, family and friends tiptoe around in an effort to keep things calm. This leads to everyone internalizing their anger and frustration, and the problem is projected onto those around. Try to not to take things, or yourself, too seriously. It may take some time to take the energy out of the charge. Meditation or “getting away from it all” could be a solution.

Keywords: Ambition. Becoming fired-up. Charging off in all directions at once. Dizziness and disorientation. Nervous breakdowns. Not acting like one’s usual self. Events coming to a head. Feeling like one will explode at any moment. Too many obligations to live up to. Feeling incapable of action. Too much excitement to contain safely. Headaches. Blood pressure. Erections. Animal passions.

The Caution: Becoming ill through emotional suppression. Losing one’s cool. Going off the deep end. Lack of self-restraint. Taking things too seriously. Grumpiness and irritability. Not knowing how to act or respond. Difficulty containing emotional reactions. Unable to make accurate decisions due to irrational thoughts. Sunburn..

The Quest Degree for Mars is Leo 3: A MATURE WOMAN, KEEPING UP WITH THE TIMES, HAVING HER HAIR BOBBED – when the Symbols were ‘born’ in 1925, a woman having her hair ‘bobbed’ was a statement about her independence. Whether we get our hair cut or not, this Symbol can speak of ‘cutting away the past’ – we can feel freer, lighter and more alive with less ‘weight on our shoulders’.

This Symbol speaks of being in tune with fashions, keeping up with the times and having a modern outlook on life. Although this speaks Woman Having Hair Bobbedabout fashion, external changes may impress others or make you feel better for a time, but truly, it’s your inner self that is the essence of who and what you are, not the mask you wear. Even things built on solid foundations can be swept away by the tidal wave forces of life or the emotions. You may at times feel overpowered and that you need to pick yourself up in some way. This Symbol speaks of the necessity in life of finding time for quiet recollection. You may feel that the stormy, unpredictable, emotional life Retired Sea Captain is something you can, or need to, leave behind; to opt out. But like the sea captain, there will always be the frustration in the desire to return and get back amongst it. Immigrants fulfilling the requirements for entry into a new countryThis Symbol shows finding a new way of life, a new country or nationality, or new place to live and raise a family. It shows the possibility and hope for better things and a new way of life.  Uranus is stationing on Aries 29: THE MUSIC OF THE SPHERES – I particularly love this degree. Listening to music, being aware of the cycles of the planets, understanding the need for ‘right timing’ may be part of the equation.

Neptune is retrograde on Pisces 14: A LADY WRAPPED IN FOX FUR – this can show a need to recognise when to show our wiles and when not to.

This shows being able to present an image that shows intelligence, cleverness, glamour and beauty, along with knowing how to move in Lady Wrapped In Fox Fursocial circles. The “Lady Wrapped in Fox Fur” is someone who’s sure of themselves, able to bend to situations and have situations bend to their own desires. It often shows getting out of, or into, anything they want. You can present an image that enhances your position in society.  Pluto is retrograde on Capricorn 18: THE UNION JACK FLIES FROM A NEW BRITISH WARSHIP – Pluto was on this degree last year when the Brexit vote happened in the UK. Of course, this degree is not just about things British; it can show a need for strong boundaries, to know when to stop ‘warring’, to know what battles are ours and what are not. Do we always really need to carry that much weight?

Union Jack Flies From A New British Warship sayingThis Symbol talks about supervision, border protection and control. There can be a feeling of having to oversee a large ’empire’ where reliability and leadership are vital. This can be a tiring responsibility, but there can be an awareness of the protection of ‘all who went before’. However, political and social restraints from the past could be causing you to feel that you’ve somehow got to ‘wage war’. The trick is not to go over and over and over things. Sometimes The Story needs to be broken down into it’s smaller factors, sometimes we need to just see the overall picture.

This shows analyzing things, considering and drawing conclusions from available data and being perceptive of colors, light refraction or Light Prism reflection, auras and light. You probably have the ability to break situations down into the simplest components in order to see the full picture. This can and often does lead to a greater understanding of the relationship between the whole and the many parts. Just be careful not to overanalyze, thereby losing the joy that’s inherent in the simplicities of life. Taking a single vision and turning it into many individual streams can be rewarding, but it can also confuse and distract.

Copying and sharing ideas or things. Disseminating information. Auras and aura photography. Triangles. Polarization of light. Reflection. Laboratory tests. Diffracted personality.
