The Aries new moon occurs on April 15 in the US, and, on April 16 in Australia. This is another big new Moon, and, I feel that this one will be a particularly interesting time as Uranus is so highlighted, and, we have Chiron moving into Aries = the beginning of a brand new cycle for Chiron.
This new Moon is just over two degrees ahead of Uranus, and, just a few hours after the new Moon, we will have the Moon conjuncting (together with) Uranus, and, a few days following the new Moon, we will have the Sun crossing over Uranus, making this not only a very interesting time, but, perhaps (and most likely) a very surprising and rather unpredictable time. For many, especially after the last few weeks, which have been rather difficult, frustrating, limiting, angry making, etc, with the Mars/Saturn conjunction in Capricorn, this will be a period of throwing things out. We’ve had a lot of pointers to getting rid of the unneeded and unwanted over the last few years, but, this feels like the time is more immediate for lightening our loads, for jettisoning the unnecessary. Chiron, of course, reveals our ‘wounds’ and, it can reveal ‘The Stories We Tell Ourselves’ because, after all, what is a ‘wound’ other than the story attached to it?
Soon, we’ll have Uranus (first, of course, the Sun) moving into Taurus, so, this might feel even more like an opportunity for getting our possessions, relationships, living spaces, our minds and our thoughts, etc, more cleared of clutter, giving us more room to move.
We also have Mercury going direct right on this new Moon. It’s going direct on Aries 5: A TRIANGLE WITH WINGS. This can have us wanting to escape the confines, the rise above difficulties, perhaps to rise above the superfluous and the outworn in our lives so we can reach a new level of ‘being’. We might want to use our imaginations to rise above any difficulties and to picture new possibilities.
Chiron moving into Aries is likely to be heralding a major shift for many, as well. Chiron is on the last gasp of Pisces now, the Sabian Symbol for which is Pisces 30: A MAJESTIC ROCK FORMATION RESEMBLING A FACE IS IDEALIZED BY A BOY WHO TAKES IT AS HIS IDEAL OF GREATNESS, AND AS HE GROWS UP, BEGINS TO LOOK LIKE IT. This Symbol often speaks about issues to do with how we see ourselves in the world; what are we striving for, how do we see ourselves operating out there in the big wide world? What are we going to be when we ‘grow up’ :) With this degree, we often want to let go of the past while gathering to ourselves the new.
Chiron is moving the story from Pisces to Aries, and, we may feel like we are emerging into a different world, at least in some measure. The first degree of Aries is Aries 1: A WOMAN HAS RISEN OUT OF THE OCEAN, A SEAL IS EMBRACING HER. This first degree of Aries speaks of many things, but, one of the most important to my way of seeing it is that we are looking to find our ‘feet and our voice’. As with mermaids, we have to (most likely once yet again) find our feet, and, to find our voice in amongst all that’s going on. We might feel like we are in new territory, or, that we have an imperative to find a new way of being. Venus on Taurus 19 just hours before this new Moon backs this up. Taurus 19 is A NEW CONTINENT RISING FROM THE OCEAN. In so many ways, we are moving into a new period. How we embrace it is going to be interesting.
Uranus is on a degree that speaks of watching and observing the patterns around us, particularly those shown by astrology. Uranus is on Aries 29: THE MUSIC OF THE SPHERES. What ‘music’ do you listen to? What are the messages coming through now? We have just been through Uranus being on Aries 28 for a few weeks – A LARGE DISAPPOINTED AUDIENCE. Changing our ‘tune’, changing our voice, can lead us out of that ‘disappointment’, and, we may see where we may need to change our opinions of things, or, we may find that some things don’t need to be ‘set in stone’, we have the ability to change that story.
Just days after this new Moon, however, Mars and Pluto conjunct (are on the same degree). This might point to having to give up some kind of ‘battling’. Mars and Pluto will both be on Capricorn 22: A GENERAL REVEALING NOBILITY OF CHARACTER BY ACCEPTING DEFEAT GRACEFULLY. This might have us ruminating over things that might have ‘gone wrong’, and, we might want to let go of self-defeating behaviours, and, we would do well to not react to those ‘old stories’ that have outgrown their usefulness. Of course, events on the world stage might be rather startling as those in power don’t want to relinquish that ‘battle.
For my condensed take on all of this, the degree of the new Moon says a lot. Uranus was recently on this degree: Aries 27: THROUGH IMAGINATION, A LOST OPPORTUNITY IS REGAINED. Conscious affirmations that all is going to be OK can work wonders now. As Neville Goddard and Walter Russell, two giants out of the past, said repeatedly, we must have the assumption that what we want is with us already. The magic of this can work wonders!
There’s always more to say, but, you can find some added information by looking at the Sabian Symbol placements below.

The new Moon each month marks a time of new beginnings and realisations. It’s like a birth after a time of gestation or being ‘in the womb’. Here, the light begins to return and we can see new beginnings and possibilities. A new Moon means that the Sun and the Moon are both together – bringing a synergy of their energies together. The new Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions for the future. This period is wonderful for planting seeds of whatever kind. What do you want to manifest in your future? Whether you write it down, sing about it or just hold the thought forms in your mind, doing this at the new Moon can realise some fabulous results around the things that you want to draw into your life
The new Moon is on Aries 27: THROUGH IMAGINATION, A LOST OPPORTUNITY IS REGAINED – the following is from my book – The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom –
Commentary: ‘Through Imagination, a Lost Opportunity is Regained’ implies an opportunity to set something right that was thought to be gone or past any hope of recovery. The power of the mind and the imagination are the best tools to use to retrieve this issue. This symbol shows that by using creative ideas, the very thing that was ‘Lost’ can be brought back into reality.
Oracle: You will have to summon up your talent and energy to recapture what has been ‘Lost’ to you. This can be about jobs, relationships, creative ideas, possessions, anything. Use your creative energy to revitalize an idea or opportunity, even if it seems to be hopeless. Even if you don’t get exactly what you want, you will probably feel an incredible sense of relief as things are put back on track again. You need to believe that it is possible to recapture what you thought was gone. Create an image in your mind; imagine yourself with this ‘Lost Opportunity Regained’ then you will most likely succeed in your objectives, at least on some level. Visualizing what you want, allowing time and watching for it to manifest can bring astounding results. Just about anything can be recovered when this Symbol is around, but you must put some energy into it, particularly using your ‘Imagination’. Timing may be important in this situation and you might need the help of others along the way. Finding ways to get the results you want may take time, or it could indeed happen overnight. Listen to your imagination and intuition and let creative solutions to your problems rise up from within. Remember, though, that often our rewards are different from what we first imagined.
Keywords: Creative imagination and visualization. Hopes renewed when all seemed lost. Second chances. Last minute reprieves. Retracing your steps. Judging things to be positive when once they were thought to be negative. Being exonerated or forgiven. Pardons giving release. Imagineering. Retrieving things. Making up for lost ground or time. Changing your mind therefore changing your outcome.
The Caution: Relying on self-pity. Denying the imagination to recover the situation. Not noticing solutions to problems. Letting chances for recovery disappear through inaction or laziness. Going over and over lost opportunities. Finding it impossible to let go. Staring at loss and not realizing what one has.
The Moon symbolizes: Emotions, moods, mother, family, clan, domestic issues, relationship to home and country. Feelings, sentiments, nourishment, emotional nurturing, monkey chatter mind, lunar and menstrual cycles, clarity of emotions or lunacy. Female energy – yours and others.
The Karmic Degree for the Moon is Aries 26: A PERSON POSSESSED OF MORE GIFTS THAN THEY CAN HOLD
This Symbol often shows someone who has more talent, more possessions, more gifts than most other people. Perhaps too much is demanded or expected of you or you expect life to give you more and more and more. Recognize that you are surrounded by abundance, but perhaps you are unable to experience it all at once. If you don’t feel you have the ability to cope with all that life throws at you then look in your ‘storehouse’ and you could be surprised at talents you have that have never even been used. You may have to give up some things in order to make room for others.
Keywords: Potentials and the obsessions they can bring. Obsessions about “having things” or achieving goals. Counting one’s blessings. Jack-of-all-trades. Having to drop the bundle if one more thing is added. Being talented and blessed. Enormous responsibilities. Wanting to contain all possibilities. Storage. So many things to do—so little time.
The Caution: Not being able to focus on one issue at a time, or on ideas of real worth and therefore not really achieving anything. Inability to gain or contain everything that is desired. Ambition that knows no bounds. Greediness and insatiability. Being told that you can’t have what you want. Things piling up. Juggling and dropping the ball. Feeling as though you will lose everything. Being overwhelmed with possibilities.
The Quest Degree for the Moon is Aries 28: A LARGE DISAPPOINTED AUDIENCE
This Symbol shows a sense of being an observer or a spectator, sometimes more than being a participant. You may have an inner critic that analyses things. In fact you might feel as though you, or someone else, have failed and left something wanting. But how much is this because too much was expected in the first place? The ‘Audience’ sometimes only remembers the last performance, so get up and try again. Be aware that you may be your own ‘audience’. Do you feel that things have or haven’t lived up to expectations? Are you missing out through negative projections? Perhaps your need to feel satisfied, to perform or be fulfilled should be more realistic.
Keywords: Adjustments of expectations bringing realizations about what is really possible. Expecting the response of others. Walking out during a performance. Not listening to something through a lack of interest. Anticipating a different result from what is delivered. Relying on feedback. Lines and queues of people. Criticism. The need to inspire and enthuse.
The Caution: Feeling sad, sorry or let down because of defeat and frustration. A lot of people left feeling emotionally “wiped-out”. Shattering of illusions. Fickleness. The attitude that one can’t do anything. Everything being out of one’s control. Watching what’s going on and not participating. Being at the mercy of the whims and fancies of others. Judging and analyzing oneself or others. Too many people crammed into one spot. Not getting a seat. Refusal of entry. Booing and hissing.

This Symbol shows the ability to be able to lift yourself above the ordinary, using your natural gifts to find a new perspective, an uplifted view; to expand your awareness. This can picture an eagerness for spiritual integration or a capacity to escape from reality. Try to ground the vision, while allowing yourself the free flight of vision. This Symbol often brings a strong spiritual nature that expresses itself through purity of thought and insight.

The Karmic Degree for Mercury is Aries 4: TWO LOVERS ARE STROLLING THROUGH A SECLUDED WALK
This Symbol speaks of spending time with a lover or loved ones, or, it can show issues of loneliness; wondering where the ‘other’ is. Being with someone you love and enjoying their presence without rush or pressure is likely to be important, or perhaps that’s what you’re needing right now. Perhaps it’s about being ok just being with that part of you that you never seem to have much time for. One should be able to escape the realities of the world and touch the deeper feelings of the heart, without fear of being excluded or criticized. Try to find some time for quiet romance and balance.

Loneliness and/or the desire to be left alone. Denial of self and needs. Not wanting contact. Rejecting those who don’t measure up. Seeing one’s partner as a possession.
The Quest Degree for Mercury is Aries 6: A SQUARE BRIGHTLY LIGHTED ON ONE SIDE
This Symbol often shows a positive nature that knows how to find ways out of situations by creating creative solutions. Don’t become too concerned with one side of issues in the material world, even if you feel boxed in with no way out. Don’t have all your eggs in one basket. You have the ability to simply look around with a more objective eye and apply simple, active solutions – there are always ways out of dilemmas. Look for the light and head towards it.
Keywords: Illuminated solutions that provide ways out of tight situations. Having to put up walls to protect or defend versus taking down the barriers. Putting all your eggs in one basket. Venus is on Taurus 20: WISPS OF CLOUDS, LIKE WINGS, ARE STREAMING ACROSS THE SKY
This Symbol implies a sense of moving forward quickly, possibly without feeling grounded or anchored to the realities of what’s going on around you. You may feel driven forward, almost out of your control, but you run the risk of either going past things too quickly, or tiring as you try to resist the push forward. Let superficial excitements affect you and then be prepared to go back and sort out details later. This is a wonderful degree, but you may need to slow down and take notice of what’s going on and not be so eager to escape.
Keywords: Fleeting opportunities or inspiration. Feeling things “in the wind”. Seeking a change in the weather. Thinking on your feet. Doing things at a fast pace. This Symbol shows the rising of a new place, a place to be, a new country or somewhere to strive for a new life. It implies that you can find that extra spark to create a brand new, original opportunity. This pictures the beginning of something that holds enormous potential for the future. There is much work to be done developing this into something fertile and productive. A whole new field of activity is coming to light. What you have done in the past has led you to this, but these new beginnings need to be met with a fresh sense of purpose and possibility.

Atlantis and other ancient underwater cities. Evolution. Patience. Developing slowly but surely. Emerging generations of people. New environments. Things feeling suddenly foreign. The Caution: Continually seeking ‘new worlds’ – not finding a place and cooperation in the existing one. Moving on constantly without finishing up with the old. Staying stuck in old realities.
The Quest Degree for Venus is Taurus 21: A MOVING FINGER POINTS TO SIGNIFICANT PASSAGES IN A BOOK
This Symbol points to going by the book and taking things as rules to be lived or taking things literally. You may feel that you know all about life, or that you need to learn all about it. You could feel as though you have read the book on life. There are, however, finer details that you may have missed and you may need to look again. There is a clear indication that you could look for something outside of yourself for clues on how to live or how to be. However, be discriminating about what is really significant. Find the essential details of a situation and disregard the rest. Looking for clues. Reading significant pieces of writing. Instruction manuals. Lawyers and the law. Oracles and synchronicities. Reading passages that reflect life. Memories.
Keywords: Finding the essential details of a situation and disregarding the rest. The cursor on the computer screen. Reading and writing books. Keeping records. Instruction manuals. Lawyers and the law. Editing. Reviewing. Reference books. Reading the Oracle. Memories. Quoting scripture. Testimony. Rules.

Mars is on Capricorn 17: A YOUNG PERSON SURREPTITIOUSLY BATHING IN THE NUDE – as Mars is here, we may feel that we’ve been ‘revealing’ ourselves a little too much at times. The recent privacy issues on Facebook being on possible breach of that need for privacy.
This Symbol shows getting rid of the restraints imposed by social conditioning and inhibitions; to strip down to bare essentials and not be ashamed of it. The “Young Person” is enjoying the feeling of not having clothes or costume to constrain or cover them. They are also letting the sun and the air contact their skin which is very healthy and revivifying. Although there may be some feelings of being ‘exposed’, really letting go and not worrying about being ‘seen’ can lead to feelings of freedom. This applies to a freeing up or exposing on a spiritual and emotional level as well, it’s not confined to physical realities.
Keywords: Confrontations with one’s self. Reconnecting with nature. A desire to “reveal” oneself mentally, physically or emotionally. Issues with weight. The Caution: Suppression of natural attitudes. Bondage to social inhibitions. Feeling “indecent” about one’s bodily responses. Hiding one’s self away OR being an exhibitionist. Showing off with no concern for other’s feelings. Shocking and surprising behavior.
The Karmic Degree for Mars is Capricorn 16: SCHOOL GROUNDS FILLED WITH BOYS AND GIRLS IN GYMNASIUM SUITS
This degree shows being vibrant and alive and in the physical body with enthusiasm and excitement about life and the future. The “Gymnasium Suits” shows the need to get active and to stay active, to have time in your life to drop into the physical body and enjoy it. If you’ve been neglecting your physical well-being, it is good to reestablish that affinity with your vitality. Spontaneous enthusiasm and the joy of being ‘alive’ can regenerate and revive and bring about carefree contact with like minded people. The trick is to bring some form of physical discipline into your life while enjoying it and not feeling forced to do what you don’t want to do.
Keywords: Developing muscular coordination. Sexual energy, attraction or satisfaction. Playing, marching, competition, rivalry. Singing songs of unity. New anthems for the young. The search for identity. Being able to accomplish things on the physical level. Physical fitness. Uniforms and uniformity. Gymnasiums. Exercise equipment. Conscription. Being one of many. The Quest Degree for Mars is Capricorn 18: THE UNION JACK FLIES FROM A NEW BRITISH WARSHIP
This Symbol talks about supervision, border protection and control. There can be a feeling of having to oversee a large ’empire’ where reliability and leadership are vital. This can be a tiring responsibility, but there can be an awareness of the protection of ‘all who went before’. However, political and social restraints from the past could be causing you to feel that you’ve somehow got to ‘wage war’. Issues to do with the government can come up, whether you agree with what they do or not. You may be confronted with having to make your presence felt and guard your territory. Effective supervision will help you to relax.

Jupiter is retrograde on Scorpio 22: HUNTERS PROTECTED BY HEAVY CLOTHING ARE SHOOTING WILD DUCKS
This Symbol implies the need for protection of those innocent or younger, smaller, or not able to protect themselves. Being an advocate for others, you can shield them from the more harmful elements of society. You may, at times, feel that you are the one that needs to be protected or given shelter or in need of people declaring a ceasefire and amnesty so people can come out into the open and not be afraid to show their true selves. Of course, there is a need for an outlet for aggressive emotions every now and then. Doing so in groups gives this outlet, such as “Shooting Wild Ducks” some sense of acceptability. However, picking on the undefended or smaller is not right, no matter what the terms.
Keywords: Satiating one’s aggressive desires. Being able to hit the mark. Putting up with violence in one’s life, whether physical, mental, spiritual or emotional. Road, and other, types of rage. This Symbol shows someone whose “Conscience” stops them from following a certain course of action, staying with a project or relationship when they’d rather leave, or, someone not prepared to compromise their values to do something that society says they must do. You may find yourself in situations where what you are expected to do is against your inner values, your conscience or how you see your future unfolding. You may have to make the difficult choice between allegiance to duty or your own inner truth. True freedom can only be found when one faces situations with a sense of integrity and preparedness to face the consequences, be they positive or negative.

Saturn is stationary retrograde on Capricorn 10: AN ALBATROSS FEEDING FROM THE HAND OF A SAILOR
This degree shows the overcoming of fears, superstitions or limiting thoughts. One of the ways of overcoming fears is through gentleness and a readiness to let down your guard and interact with people or animals without feeling afraid or vulnerable. Putting up a wall between you and other living things can cause alienation or the loss of the rewards that can come from truly relating. Even seemingly natural ‘enemies’ can realize the possibility of interaction and letting go of fear may be necessary. You may feel that you can deal with someone with whom you have usually kept your distance – possibly even help each other.
Keywords: Feeding one’s higher nature with good nourishment. Banishing worries, so that one can fly ever higher. Overcoming superstitions or beliefs. Travelers who put themselves at risk in foreign lands or cultures. Talking to anybody anywhere. Sharing one’s bounty. Sailors, boats. Birds. Empathy and sympathy for others. Restoring trust and hope.

Uranus is on Aries 29: THE MUSIC OF THE SPHERES
This Symbol speaks of the beauty of music and harmony and it is particularly intuitive. It doesn’t matter if things are going well or not, if you are in tune with the inner voice, this can show an inner accord with your path. Savor the lessons that come and know that everything happens in its own time and you’ll grow in wisdom. ‘The Music of the Spheres’ can show attuning to the messages of astrology, numerology, mathematics and science. Sing, tune into the planets, listen to music, dance and celebrate life.

The Karmic Degree for Uranus is Aries 28: A LARGE DISAPPOINTED AUDIENCE
The Quest Degree for Uranus is Aries 30: A DUCK POND AND ITS YOUNG BROOD
This Symbol speaks of families, being with and caring for youngsters, and caring for each other. Sometimes, there can be a feeling of being restricted and bound in by reality, but then there’s often also a feeling of being safe. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of the comforting things around us. Finding friends or family that enrich our life can lead to a sense of community, belonging and love. Although you may sometimes wish for more exciting adventures – it feels good to have a place to hang one’s hat and people and a place to call one’s own.

Finding friends or family that enrich one’s life. Psychoanalysis. Family patterns and analysis. Family support. The family sphere. Feeling safe in one’s environs. Being the mother duck. Feeling left out and alone. Smugness or exclusivity. All looking the same and no one standing out as individuals. Being lost in the crowd. Distrusting those that are “alien”. Uranus symbolizes: The unexpected, things that are individual or ‘different’. Charged, energetic dynamics, electricity, light, lightning bolts, sudden changes, those who live on the fringe of society. Sudden turns and twists of fate. Rebellion, surprises, liberation, freedom.
Neptune is on Pisces 16: IN A QUIET MOMENT, A CREATIVE INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCES THE FLOW OF INSPIRATION
This shows quieting the mind, spending time in “Quiet’ contemplation, allowing for the “Flow of Inspiration”. Inspiration is a stimulation of the mind or emotions to a high level of feeling or activity. You’ll find the flow of inspiration coming through if you allow it to and the more creative you allow yourself to be, the more inspiration will be in the messages. You may find that with each idea or creative inspiration there follows another and another. This signifies taking time to relax and go with the flow neither fighting against nor pushing forward. There’s times when we realize there is no longer any point in fighting and to ‘win’ in some situations may be impossible. At the time of surrender, it is the valor of the battle and the way you handled it that will be remembered. Sometimes, it is how gracefully you handle defeat that will be the measure. You will go onto other endeavors and win. You don’t always have to “Accept Defeat”: sometimes you have to accept your own victories.

The “Boy” lived in childhood under a hill figure of a president and when he grew up he became a president himself. You may find that you are growing into the image that you have imagined and it gives you a sense of pride – assuming you have chosen a positive image. What or who do you “Idealize”? What is it that you’d like to become? What image would you like to project? Meditating on a goal or the projection of an ideal can lead to actuality. Having a drink, eating some food, sharing a chat and gossip, meeting new people, networking and catching up with friends is good for the soul. Relaxation is great, especially where there is no need for pretense. Of course, you may be the host of the party and you may have to provide a venue, food, drinks and entertainment. The “Vast Staircase” can show the ladder that one must climb, socially, spiritually, emotionally – even physically. Going up that staircase, one begins to feel more empowered, more accomplished, more ‘there’. However, being on a lower rung may cause a feeling of compromise. Don’t concern yourself with who’s in front or behind. It is of little true consequence. Accept your position, but strive ever upwards. Trust that you and yours are heading in the right direction.
