[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text title=”Astrology of this Lunar Cycle”]Occurring on Thursday the 12th January (at 11:33 am GMT), this first full Moon of the year is a very powerful one. Falling in Cancer, it is in a very tight grand-cross with Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto, making it an interesting, stimulating and potentially stressful time and one that is likely to have many people wondering what the heck is going on. And, in amongst it, we might find it hard to make sense of it all, and we might feel like throwing our hands in the air and turning off the TV (and doing both, probably, at the same time :) ).

The tightest aspect to this full Moon is the square from Jupiter – it is almost exact. Jupiter’s mission, in amongst other things, seems to be the desire to find equanimity, to seek the truth, to have a sense of respect and authenticity, along with fairness and balance. The Sabian Symbol for Jupiter shows that in amongst it all, what we are really experiencing is a lot of noise, distraction and obscuring (or distortion) of the facts. Jupiter is on a degree that often speaks about ‘sounding off’, and, some are, no doubt, wanting to have their voices, ideas or responses heard.

Expecting the unexpected sayingUranus is also in a tight aspect, and, with Jupiter, it forms a rather tight and compelling grand cross with this full Moon. This can bring about quite a bit of tension, especially if we want to hang onto a sense of safety and security (the full Moon is in Cancer, with the Sun in Capricorn, after all). We may feel a deep sense of unease if we’re not going with the flow and allowing our days to unfold. Shocks, whether disappointing or delightful, are bound to happen, and we might be taken off-guard at times. Breakthroughs in understanding will come if we align with our true purpose – our true goals.

Jupiter and Uranus are opposing each other – Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries can bring up issues to do with ‘us versus them’, or, ‘my political, philosophical, religious or ethic viewpoints are bigger, better, more true than yours’. Of course, there are good things that this aspect can bring up, including the need for freedom of thought and movement, the desire to break free of restrictions, the feeling of wanting to (or, having to) leave the past behind, to move on to a new chapter in your life. No doubt, some people will be saying goodbye to some friendships, relationships, jobs, homes – all kinds of situations can be challenged if they do not measure up to what is needed to move into a new way of being.

Adding to the mix is Saturn in Sagittarius in a tight sextile aspect with Jupiter, and, in a trine with Uranus. Saturn is bringing us opportunities to get more organised, more straight, more determined, or, more focused than we might have previously been. Saturn, though, often demands his ‘pound of flesh’, and, in this instance, it is asking that we make sure that we have done the work; that we have put in the effort necessary to get where we want to go or do what we want to do. With concentration, we can achieve much with Saturn’s grace. The stumbling block may be that Saturn is in a quincunx aspect (I see the quincunx as The Itch That Is Hard To Scratch) with the full Moon. So, we may need to put aside sentimental or emotional attachments to outcomes, and, go with the things that are more practical, more pragmatic and more grounded. Saturn often rewards such actions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1481241102468{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_separator][vc_custom_heading text=”Want insights from the Sabian Symbols, direct to your inbox?” font_container=”tag:h4|text_align:left|color:%23404040″ use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1481241699889{padding-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1434539588856{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Sign up to Lynda’s newsletter and she will send you her intuitive insights every new and full moon to help you tune in to the symbols and rhythms of astrology.[/vc_column_text][mk_subscribe placeholder_text=”Your email” button_text=”SIGN UP” list_id=”d94b27acfe” subscribe_size=”medium” btn_bg_color=”#333333″ btn_text_color=”#ffffff” btn_border_color=”#cccccc” input_placeholder_color=”#cccccc” input_border_color=”#cccccc” btn_hover_bg_color=”#e87439″][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Psyche_Entering_Cupid's_GardenColoring the full Moon is Venus and Neptune conjunct (together) in Pisces. This aspect is almost exact, with Venus passing over Neptune immediately after the time of the full Moon. This can have us either idealizing, dreaming and wearing rose-colored glasses, OR, it can have us romanticizing about things in a way that can be surreal, misleading or deceptive. This aspect can bring love and beauty into your life. The trick is to have your heart open, but not to be taken advantage of; to be caring, giving and receptive, but not leaving yourself vulnerable to those who might not see things the same way. If you’re sacrificing your wants and needs, putting aside the things you need to be doing for yourself, or, avoiding the clues that are coming through your intuition or the thoughts that pop into your mind, you may find that, when the full Moon has passed, what you thought was a nice dream was more of an illusion. So, the trick here is to be discerning, listening for what is really going on. Venus and Neptune together, especially in Pisces, can be wonderful, you just have to pay attention to clues, subtle and not-so-subtle. Addictive behaviors can lead one astray, too.

Close by to the Venus/Neptune conjunction is the Moon’s south node. This aspect is waning now, but, there may still be a need to examine what is worth keeping and what is best jettisoned = let go of. Any emotional, physical or mental dross or garbage is likely to pull you back into situations, relationships or mind-sets that will keep you from moving forward into the new promises shown by the Jupiter/Uranus opposition, which colors most of 2017.

Pluto is also in the mix, too, and, we are challenged to find our inner power and authentic sense of personal authority… we can sense that this is really strongly about going forward into a new year while letting go of the old.

We also have Chiron and Saturn in square aspect to each other. This, again, brings up the rewards of letting go of ‘old stories’. We are definitely entering new, and, potentially unknown territory. Less baggage will equal more freedom, more self-respect and more mobility, which is something that many are surely seeking now, especially as we are going into a 1 Universal Year. Old hurts, pains and afflictions may come up for a new appraisal now. We have the opportunity to see things with fresh eyes.

In a few days following this full Moon, Mars will be closing in on a conjunction with Chiron and squaring Saturn. This can have us feeling as though we are coming up against brick walls, and, it can bring up frustration and disappointment if we are butting heads with others. These ‘walls’ can be disagreements, people being short or nasty with each other, perhaps people revealing their true colors. Again, letting go of the things you can’t change helps, as does realizing your boundaries and remembering to center yourself if things get out of whack.

The message of this full Moon seems to be that no matter what happens, it’s by maintaining your balance and your faith in yourself and others that you can find a true sense of direction in what surely promises to be a very interesting time unfolding.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1484031645493{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text title=”Working With The Lunar Energies”]
The full Moon each month marks a time of heightened energies and events. It often marks the culmination of the energies released at the new Moon. Emotions can be supercharged as the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac and illumination is increased – it’s like we can see in the dark – and we can be hyper-aware as well as being hyper-awake. The effects of a full Moon can be major or minor, depending on how they interact with your own chart. Sometimes, realizations or events that are unleashed, or unlocked, can stretch their meaning months into the future. A lot can be learned at the time of the full Moon and whether it’s lunacy or illumination, or a combination of both, there’s magic unleashed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row column_padding=”5″ parallax=”content-moving” full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1484031667129{padding-top: 60px !important;padding-right: 40px !important;padding-bottom: 40px !important;padding-left: 40px !important;background-color: #f7f7f7 !important;}”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Astrology Readings and Forecasts” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:center|color:%23404040″ use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1477128916093{padding-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_column_text align=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1434539588856{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

Perhaps you need to rise above and transcend the more nitty-gritty realities of earthly existence and its difficulties, just be aware that you may not be seeing the complete picture very clearly sometimes. If you take special notice, you may be able to see through illusions, seeing past the surface appearances to things that others miss. It is true that each day begins the same – the Sun comes up, the world is still spinning – but what the day will bring always holds a bit of a mystery.
