The Enormous Blood SuperMoon Eclipse Of January 2019: Blood Rushes To One’s Head
It doesn’t pay to say too much when you are mad enough to choke. For the word that stings the deepest is the word that is never spoke. Let the other fellow wrangle till the storm has blown away, then he’ll do a heap of thinking about the things you didn’t say. James Whitcomb Riley
When anger rises, think of the consequences. Confucius
Anger is a short madness. Romanian proverb
Perhaps there is only one cardinal sin: impatience. Because of impatience we are driven out of Paradise; because of impatience we cannot return. Franz Kafka

January’s full Moon is a total lunar eclipse, and, it is enormous, and, another total lunar eclipse won’t be seen until May 2021. The following is from an article about this eclipse. Click here for more details…
The Jan. 20-21, 2019 total lunar eclipse will last 1 hour and 2 minutes, according to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center lunar eclipse projections. The full experience, from the start of the partial eclipse to the end, will last 3 hours and 17 minutes.
The peak of the total lunar eclipse will happen shortly after day’s end on Sunday, Jan. 20, on the U.S. east coast, at 12:16 a.m. EST (0516 GMT) on Monday, Jan. 21. This peak is also known as the “greatest eclipse” and is defined as the moment when the moon comes closest to the axis of Earth’s shadow.
This total lunar eclipse feels enormous for another reason – the Sun falls smack on the degree that the Sun is always on on January 20 for presidential inaugurations, and, this lunar eclipse is exactly on the MC/IC when set for Washington D.C. This feels very prophetic, at least in some measure, and, I would expect a lot of stuff to hit the fan over the coming months as a result of this lunar eclipse. Lunar eclipses (especially total ones) can have an effect on us for many months, even stretching into years, depending on what’s going on for us before and after the event. This one feels like a very important one for citizens of the United States, although, of course, we’ll feel the effects of this lunar eclipse all over the world.
With the chart set for Washington D.C., we can see the Moon on the BLOOD RUSHES TO A MAN’S HEAD degree, smack on the MC of the chart, and, we also have the Moon’s north node right up there, as well, on Cancer 27: A FURIOUS (OR VIOLENT) STORM IN A CANYON FILLED WITH VALUABLE HOMES. This Sabian Symbol doesn’t always bring about bad luck or bad occurrences, or, terrible things to light (although it most certainly can), BUT, it does tend to bring issues up that may have been hidden from view, to bring about a confluence of energies that we might have been more comfortable ignoring, or, sweeping under the carpet. It’s going to be a very interesting thing to observe what happens in the following weeks as the Moon’s north node hangs around this degree.
There’s a lot of Uranian energy around this total lunar eclipse, as we have Uranus squaring not only the Sun/Moon opposition, but, we also have the ongoing square from Uranus to the Moon’s nodes. This is bound to bring a lot of realisations, endings, beginnings, letting go of some things and embracing others, and, we may have to brace ourselves for some truly shocking outcomes on all levels. Uranus is set to go back into Taurus, and, there’s going to be some big changes coming up, especially as many are realising how inhibiting having a lot of ‘possessions’ and clutter cluttering up our lives. I think there will be more and more throwing out of those things that no longer serve us, even those things that we might have thought that we’d hang onto forever. Uranus also is in a square aspect with Mercury, which becomes exact a few days after the lunar eclipse, adding to the realisations of the need for ‘letting go’.
Getting past the illusions of the past can be a rather big theme with this lunar eclipse, especially because we have a fabulous conjunction between Venus and Jupiter. This conjunction can set the scene for some wonderful relationship outcomes, realisations and opportunities, but, we may need to be watchful for the rose coloured glasses that Venus and Jupiter can bring to situations, as we have Neptune squaring both at this eclipse. So, yes to hanging onto our ideals, but, no to feeling like a scapegoat, or, that one needs to sacrifice themselves for others, or, the feeling of being invisible or not important… those feelings will not serve to further, at any time, but, especially now.
Further, the Venus/Jupiter conjunction seems to point to (amongst other things), the government shut down, people waking up to the same realities day after day, and, the need for looking after one another. Check out the Sabian Symbols for both Venus and Jupiter, totally spot on for what’s going on lately.
Mars is on a degree that talks about tension, sexual, religious or otherwise, and, we may find the theme or the idea of reptiles and snakes coming up. Snake dreams have been very strong lately, and, I’m seeing people mentioning them more and more. Mars is on Aries 14: A SERPENT COILING BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN, and, Mars is trining the Venus/Jupiter conjunction, which is great, but, it is also being squared by Saturn. So, we are seeing more and more indications in social media that a healing needs to occur between the feminine and the masculine, a healing that is not only timely, but, very necessary.
I think we’ll see some very big news coming out of this total lunar eclipse. We seem to be on the brink of some big breakthroughs… time to count to ten before our heads explode over some trivial thing in our lives. Meditation may help, but, it may not. Thinking things through will, for sure.
On a personal note: I’ve had an enormously big year. I had about 11 weeks in Istanbul, Turkey, which was enormous and amazing. I got to go out to Urfa, some 30 kilometers from the Syrian border, and, to visit Gobekli Tepe, and, Harran, the heartland of the Sabian Brotherhood from some two thousand years ago. I loved Istanbul and Turkey, and, want to go back there again as soon as I can.
With the last few months, I’ve been very, very ill. There was a few times where I thought I was literally going to die. I had whooping cough, and, I’m just now recovering from it. It was incredibly hectic, and, I got it in early November and am just getting over the coughing now. I was so ill that I lost any interest in anything much, although I was always (as usual) thinking of things I’d like to be doing or saying or writing. Still I am recovering, but, it’s been a very difficult couple of months. Very lonely, isolating, and, confronting. Anyways, it’s an interesting time for me with Pluto (and Saturn soon) transiting exactly conjunct my ascendant. Very interesting times.

The full Moon each month marks a time of heightened energies and events. It often marks the culmination of the energies released at the new Moon. Emotions can be supercharged as the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac and illumination is increased – it’s like we can see in the dark – and we can be hyper-aware as well as being hyper-awake. The effects of a full Moon can be major or minor, depending on how they interact with your own chart. Sometimes, realisations or events that are unleashed, or unlocked, can stretch their meaning months into the future. A lot can be learned at the time of the full Moon and whether it’s lunacy or illumination, or a combination of both, there’s magic unleashed with every full Moon. Full Moon: Jan 21, 2019 5:16 am GMT
The total lunar eclipse is on Leo 1: UNDER EMOTIONAL STRESS, BLOOD RUSHES TO A MAN’S HEAD – the following is from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom –
Commentary: ‘Under Emotional Stress, Blood Rushes To a Man’s Head’ is what happens when a situation arises which fires up one’s mind and emotions quickly and suddenly. This can lead to anger, but it can also lead to being stuck in a sequence of emotional reactions. If this ‘Emotional Stress’ proves to be embarrassing, it can lead to blushing, which can be hard to conceal.
Oracle: There may be nothing that can be done at the moment. It’s like being immobilized with neither mental nor physical control. Resistance may just make the situation worse. Don’t panic, though—this will not last forever. When emotions or ambitions take over there is a need to put extra energy into thinking everything through with a calm frame of mind. However, when you’re under ‘Stress’ it is often difficult, if not impossible, to settle down and think rationally. When temper erupts it works against the mind from settling down. If you restrict or ignore your frustrations and anxieties your situation could blow out of control. It is important to recognize whether you’re reacting to a situation because it bothers you, or whether it’s because you’re generally going through a stressful time. Be careful not to explode every time you are under some kind of duress, as this can create a “cranky” type of person who is unbearable unless circumstances are smooth and calm. At the very least it is important to notice what the underlying problems are that are bringing things to a head. What is the real problem? If someone explodes every time there is some emotional stress it can become a habit. Consequently, family and friends tiptoe around in an effort to keep things calm. This leads to everyone internalizing their anger and frustration, and the problem is projected onto those around. Try to not to take things, or yourself, too seriously. It may take some time to take the energy out of the charge. Meditation or “getting away from it all” could be a solution.
Keywords: Ambition. Becoming fired-up. Charging off in all directions at once. Dizziness and disorientation. Nervous breakdowns. Not acting like one’s usual self. Events coming to a head. Feeling like one will explode at any moment. Too many obligations to live up to. Feeling incapable of action. Too much excitement to contain safely. Headaches. Blood pressure. Erections. Animal passions.
The Caution: Becoming ill through emotional suppression. Losing one’s cool. Going off the deep end. Lack of self-restraint. Taking things too seriously. Grumpiness and irritability. Not knowing how to act or respond. Difficulty containing emotional reactions. Unable to make accurate decisions due to irrational thoughts. Sunburn.
The Karmic Degree for the total lunar eclipse is Cancer 30: A DAUGHTER OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
Dear Mr. President, There are too many states nowadays. Please eliminate three. P.S. I am not a crackpot. Abraham Simpson
This Symbol shows the ability or the need to stand up for an ideal or a situation that demands your involvement. This could be about political or social revolution, or fighting to change the status quo. Relying on old traditions that were, in their day, radical and transforming, may no longer work. The difficulty is that these traditions are more predictable, conservative values that may no longer seem relevant to today’s needs and aspirations. Despite your inner feelings of modern freedom, you may come up against those that are more conservative and unmoving.
Keywords: Being bound by social conditioning OR leading the charge to break down the barriers of tradition. Putting in the time to change social conditions for the betterment of all. The feminist movement. Sacrificing personal conviction to ambition. Sacrificing philosophy to a relationship that builds the ego. Inherited values. Being the rebel in the family.
The Caution: Supporting battles that have already been fought. False feelings of superiority. Having to be “in the club” to be accepted. Narrow-minded conservatism. Glorifying the past. Relying on old traditions that were, in their day, radical and transforming. Rejecting one’s inheritance.
The Quest Degree for the Moon is Leo 2: AN EPIDEMIC OF MUMPS
This Symbol shows situations that need to be handled carefully as things could get out of control, leading to eruptions that can cause more damage than they’re worth. You may be adept at containing situations – a real healer who knows how to restore calm and wellness. Still, there could be outcomes that affect many people that probably started with just one person or one conversation. This can be news or gossip, or it can be feelings or ill will. Whether this is you or someone else, things are likely to spread unless someone takes control. Separation or isolation can lead to a halt to problems and a recovery.
Keywords: Hysterical feelings. Ideas of immunity. Things getting out of control. Common threads that link people and places. Infectious diseases. Medicine and cures. Discovering the truth of a situation and acting accordingly. Viruses and bacterial infections spreading. Rumours. Colds. Flu. Fear in general. The cat let out of the bag. The need for ‘immunization’. The Sun is on Aquarius 1: AN OLD ADOBE MISSION IN CALIFORNIA
This Symbol shows a safe and comfortable place to live, work, pray and practice our spiritual lives. The “Old Adobe Missions” were built with a great deal of effort, sacrifice, commitment, and a sense of community with one eye on the path and the other on the very real everyday needs of the people it serves. Sometimes we assume our beliefs are right and that others need to be shown the truth. Efforts should be turned to creating infrastructures to pursue these beliefs. Relating is not about control, but acceptance and reverence of each person’s divinity. There should be no pretensions, but a forging of links to new worlds.
Keywords: Spiritual retreats in natural surroundings. Finding new areas to work with spirit. Creating civilization out of natural elements. Hard work to create places of sanctuary and learning. Places once revered now tourist attractions. Forging links to new worlds. Missions and missionaries. Bringing faith to the “new world”. Brotherhoods. Places that house and protect.

The Karmic Degree for the Sun is Capricorn 30: A SECRET MEETING OF MEN RESPONSIBLE FOR WORLD DECISIONS
This Symbol shows meeting with others in order to lay out plans; to have “Secret” meetings of people, people that are often VIP’s in some way or, at least, in charge of decisions or governments or empires. The “Directors” meet, they conference or just conference call, exchange views, ideas, gossip. There may be decisions to be made or plans to be laid out. Do you make all your decisions on your own, or do you need help? Sometimes, however, you may feel shut out by those “in charge”.

Mercury is on Capricorn 26: A NATURE SPIRIT DANCING IN THE MIST OF A WATERFALL
This Symbol shows skipping lightly over the surface of life, dancing and playing. You may feel emotionally light and almost mischievous. The worries of life and the deeper parts of your feelings are ignored as you effortlessly flit over the surface of any troubles. Whilst this is, essentially, a beautiful symbol of a joy, harmony and a ‘lightness of being’, there may be an element of feeling cut off from your body, or reality. This can lead to a sense of alienation or difficulty in knowing where to land or evading problems by ignoring them or rising above them.

Venus is on Sagittarius 15: THE GROUND HOG LOOKING FOR ITS SHADOW ON GROUND HOG DAY
This Symbol shows signs and predictions to give you insights into the future. The solutions to your questions are often close by and easy to perceive and based in your normal life and relationships. By looking at past experience, you may find the signs, however, there’s a need to look closely at what’s happening as you could find yourself on a kind of merry-go-round; waking up each day to the same dilemma, question or problem. Don’t try to read too much into situations, but do take a good look at how you come across in relation to other people. Do you keep repeating the same mistakes? Perhaps you help others get over their past, freeing them up for having a better, brighter future.
Keywords: Looking back, reading the signs. Divination and other systems of inquiry. Seeing society as being to blame. People having a good look at how they seem to others. This Symbol shows situations of dependence and/or co-dependence. The “Sea Gulls” are looking for sustenance, a place of refuge perhaps, somewhere that’s a reliable source of food. This can imply situations such as social security, foundations that provide food and shelter for people, charities and benefits OR it can imply spongers, borrowers or people who dog others looking to see what they can gain from the things they discard or don’t want. The trick with this is; don’t look to others or have others look to you for opportunities and nourishment, for you may miss your chance of being creative and independent. Who’s looking for scraps? Are they worth it?

The Karmic Degree for Mars is Aries 13: A BOMB WHICH FAILED TO EXPLODE IS NOW SAFELY HIDDEN FROM DISCOVERY
This Symbol shows that explosive elements need discharging. Pressure cooker energy needs to be released, but it often needs to be done slowly and carefully. By keeping a sense of control, one can handle wild situations, elements or people without things getting out of hand. Be an example to others of how calmness and quiet can take the charge out of things. Take whatever opportunities you can to defuse elements as an explosion often damages more than is expected. You may have to hide something away so things don’t get crazy, but with some careful thought, all should be well.
Keywords: Pressure valves. Getting away with something. Tantrums and frustration. Tempers that simmer. Explosive behavior. Bombs, explosions. Sudden and forceful events. Intelligence organizations, CIA, FBI, ASIO, etc. Valuable lessons of self-restraint. Relief from problems. Discharging nervous energy. Security checks. Last minute escapes. The trick with this is; don’t look to others or have others look to you for opportunities and nourishment, for you may miss your chance of being creative and independent. Who’s looking for scraps? Are they worth it?
Keywords: Losing sight of alternative possibilities and going for the easy “feed”. Issues of dependence. Diminishing one’s essential worth while trying to please a specific need. Being opportunistic. Some things never fade; they stand as reminders of ancient eras, bringing messages to us. Information and revelations may be found in these reminders (the “Remains”) about the stability and longevity of the foundation of your society, or possibly some other society, distant in time or space. You’ll find satisfaction in things that are not so much superficial display, but those things that represent the longevity and stability of the foundation or backdrop of your society. This Symbol speaks of families, being with and caring for youngsters, and caring for each other. Sometimes, there can be a feeling of being restricted and bound in by reality, but then there’s often also a feeling of being safe. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of the comforting things around us. Finding friends or family that enrich our life can lead to a sense of community, belonging and love. You may feel that you need to rehearse or prepare for difficult situations. There is wisdom in practising to reduce the chance of error or failure. However, are you going over and over possible positive or negative outcomes thereby losing the joy that can be found in relaxing and letting down your guard? Sometimes the things we think are going to happen don’t happen at all. Choosing where, when and how to be ready and willing to go for objectives is half the battle.
Keywords: Taking orders to better respond to situations. The higher self training the lower self. Exercises. Marching and going through the motions. The need for defence. Seeing ahead. There’s times when we realize there is no longer any point in fighting and to ‘win’ in some situations may be impossible. At the time of surrender, it is the valor of the battle and the way you handled it that will be remembered. Sometimes, it is how gracefully you handle defeat that will be the measure. You will go onto other endeavors and win. You don’t always have to “Accept Defeat”: sometimes you have to accept your own victories.
Keywords: True inner worth. Being a “good loser”. Learning that every minor skirmish in life is not a major ‘Defeat’. Being prepared to start again. Sacrificing things for the benefit of others. Nobility of character. Letting go of the “charge” around anger. Surrendering. Knowing when to let go.

You probably have the ability to break situations down into the simplest components in order to see the full picture. This can and often does lead to a greater understanding of the relationship between the whole and the many parts. Just be careful not to overanalyze, thereby losing the joy that’s inherent in the simplicities of life. Taking a single vision and turning it into many individual streams can be rewarding, but it can also confuse and distract.
Keywords: Spectrum analysis. Color and crystal healing. Rainbows. Light refraction. Side effects. Considering many facets of a situation. Endless opportunities. Optics. Sight. Seeing. Copying and sharing ideas or things. Disseminating information. Auras and aura photography. Triangles. Polarization of light. Reflection. Laboratory tests. Diffracted personality.
The Caution: Locked in to a set of parameters. Over analyzing things. Being blinded by ambition. Daunted by the task ahead. Mirages. Microscopes and binoculars but not seeing things as they really are.
Chiron symbolizes: Our wounds, Chiron is known as The Wounded Healer. The wounds are The Stories That We Tell Ourselves, it is where we have to focus on healing, it can show things that are out of shape or misplaced or in need of repair.
The Moon’s North Node is on Cancer 27: A FURIOUS STORM IN A RESIDENTIAL CANYON FILLED WITH VALUABLE HOMES
This Symbol implies that you may find yourself much deeper in situations than you had planned, but you find yourself restrained by the walls about you and the turbulence happening in and around you. Strong emotions or events may be unleashed and there may be no escape from the turbulence that is around. The best thing to do is wait it out and protect your self the best you can. In fact, endeavouring to contain the energy could result in more damage. Things will settle down and peace will reign once more. Arguments and emotional confrontations emerge as a result of the ‘pressure cooker’ environments in modern-day living.
Keywords: Arguments and emotional confrontations. The “pressure cooker” environments of modern-day living. Psychic energy unleashed. Furious emotions. Changing the status quo. Bad weather and its consequences. Rebuilding from the foundations. Living in canyons. Being surrounded by mountainous peaks. The awesome power of nature.
The Caution: Wrongly believing that you are in control of the uncontrollable. Enjoyment of emotional storms and turmoil. Lots of noise that erupts out of nowhere. Whipping things up. The Moon’s North Node symbolizes: This is known as quite a ‘karmic point’ (although all planets and points in a chart can be ‘karmic’). One’s destiny in this life. The things you are meant to integrate, move towards, become. Destined relationships and relationship issues can show up here.
The Moon’s South Node is on Capricorn 27: A MOUNTAIN PILGRIMAGE
This Symbol shows being able to climb high, to rise to occasions, perform well, have a mission and, probably most importantly, to embark on spiritual journeys. Many people travel, but more often than not it implies a spiritual striving; an ascent in consciousness and the ability to transcend earthier, more immediate matters. There is always the desire, or the need, to strive further, to learn more on the path to understanding and transcendence. You may want to follow those that have gone before to achieve a true sense of inner fulfilment. Work towards your own ‘mountain top’. The effort may be great, but so are the rewards.
Keywords: Ascent in consciousness. Spiritual, material, corporate or political striving. Having an entourage of people (or wanting one). Aloneness and separation. Setting off to somewhere else. Going on a mission. Finding one’s spiritual grounding. Getting back to the purer elements of life. Ambitions to get to the top. Wanting the highest office in the land.
The Caution: High moral stands with no depth of feeling. Feeling “high above” others. Feelings of being, or acting like, an ascended being. Haughtiness. Intellectual snobbery. People scrambling for the top. The “tall poppy” syndrome. Ambitions that know no bounds. People ridiculing others for their lesser position. Spiritual or corporate struggling for position.
The Moon’s South Node symbolizes: Past karmic patterns to be overcome, can be habits that are good, but can describe things, relationships, issues that you need to let go of, or, hold you back from manifesting your true destiny. Relationships that feel karmic and difficult, memories from the past.
