May’s full Moon is a ‘Flower Moon’ lunar eclipse in Scorpio. Occurring on the night of 15/16 May in the US and the 16th in Australia, it is a powerful total eclipse which is likely to bring many changes (and revelations). Check out this link for more information on this eclipse:- https://www.space.com/36655-may-full-moon.html
Eclipses, especially those that are total, can have an effect for months and months into the future. This is true of all lunations (new and full Moons) as the energies present at the time project out for a long time into the future, especially if there are major events around that time. Eclipses, of course, can and do have a much stronger influence and often portend major social and world events.
As often with the Sabian Symbols, a theme emerges from the stories that they tell. This total lunar eclipse in Scorpio is rather extraordinary in that the Symbol for the lunar eclipse is Scorpio 25: INDIANS MAKING CAMP IN NEW TERRITORY. The Quest Degree (the degree following) of the Sun at this eclipse is Taurus 27: AN OLD INDIAN WOMAN SELLING BEADS AND TRINKETS, and the Sabian Symbol of Chiron is Aries 15: AN INDIAN WEAVING A BLANKET IN THE LIGHT OF THE SETTING SUN. For me, this evokes a desire to feel, or return to, a sense of connecting to mother nature, to pick up on our more ‘native’ senses, to tune into our natural selves, to be at one with others. There’s so many ways that this can manifest in our lives and in our souls, and, it’s clear that the more shamanic side to our natures wants to emerge. These three Symbols suggest the need to feel safe, secure and at home in one’s place and to feel rewarded for your talents, abilities and offerings to the world, and, to be able to weave our story into what we do for a living (and, in many cases, how to make a living off it). I sense the strong desire to feel ‘at home’ and accepted and loved in one’s environment. (BTW, some of those quotations listed at the top of this newsletter make me somewhat gag, and they’re not particularly PC, but I put them in my book to illustrate this Symbol for a reason, so I’ve included them)
Venus and Chiron are closely conjunct on the idea of the ‘light of the setting sun‘. Aries 15 (Chiron) is AN INDIAN WEAVING A BLANKET IN THE LIGHT OF THE SETTING SUN, and, Venus is on Aries 16: BRIGHTLY CLAD BROWNIES DANCING IN THE WARM DYING LIGHT – both Symbols speak of the ‘setting sun’. We may feel tired of the same ol’ same ol’, and, be feeling the need to ‘retire’ into ourselves after a lot of hard work, or intention or attention, and now we need to relax and digest the stories that we might have been telling ourselves (or allowing to unfold – same thing). We may experience a healing around our sense of ‘individuation’ and our sense of self and purpose. Brownies turn up when they’re needed – they help us with our chores, with our problems, perhaps with our loneliness. I’ve found that Aries 16 can work miracles in our lives. This combination evokes the idea of ‘the end of empire’ – the setting sun on that empire. In amongst many other things.
Jupiter has just moved out of Pisces and into Aries. This cusp always catches my attention – Jupiter is moving out of the oceanic realms of Pisces and into a greater sense of individuation in Aries. I find it astounding that Aries 1 has a Symbol that speaks of emerging from the water onto land – A WOMAN HAS RISEN FROM THE OCEAN, A SEAL IS EMBRACING HER (the Sabian Symbols came through randomly…). This can be a time to come out of shadows, perhaps, and, to make one’s mark on the world (in a manner of speaking ). About five days after the eclipse, Mercury, which is retrograde, moves into a nice sextile aspect with Jupiter from Gemini 1: A GLASS-BOTTOMED BOAT REVEALS UNDERSEA WONDERS – one of the most ‘clair-seeing’ Symbols of the 360. So, one of the messages of this Mercury retrograde is to put on our ‘special goggles’ in order to see into areas, people, places, events, whatever, more clearly.
Mars and Neptune add another level of Piscean flavour to this eclipse. Mars is on Pisces 24: THE TINY ISLAND SEEMS LOST IN THE BROAD OCEAN, BUT ITS HAPPY INHABITANTS HAVE CREATED A GREAT WORLD ALL THEIR OWN, and, Neptune is on Pisces 25: THE PURGING OF THE PRIESTHOOD.
Through the lens of the Sabian Symbols, this conjunction is very much about how we get along and live with others: Who we allow into our personal space. It can ask what ideals do we hold re community and a sense of belonging versus where we perhaps might be forced to co-habitate with others when we might prefer to jump into the ocean and just swim to the next island (only half joking!). Neptune on the ‘purging’ degree can have us having strong thoughts, intuitions – ephiphanies perhaps – about others (or situations, whatever) – about their intent or ‘goodness’ or their right to have authority over us. Mars and Neptune are in a nice tight trine aspect to the eclipsed Moon, so, this conjunction can bring a sense of release and relief, but there needs to be a tight rein on reality as illusions can have us missing the big picture (whether that’s in your personal life, politcally or with world situations – whatever). Delusions can occur with this conjunction, but the nice aspect it has to the eclipse allows for manifestation and decisiveness – especially as Saturn is calling for more of that – well, demanding it really.
Further, when it comes to insight and having a special set of spectacles (or goggles), the Karmic Condition (the previous degree) of this lunar eclipse is Scorpio 26: AN X-RAY PHOTOGRAPH HELPS WITH THE DIAGNOSIS, adding to our ability to perceive things that others might not want to (or be able to) notice. We want to delve into things; to see what’s actually at the root cause of what’s going on, to discern and learn the ‘bare bones’ of situations, places, things or people. Of course, our ‘diagnosis’ may reveal things about ourselves that we may have kept hidden previously. We may be afraid, or reticent, to have these things come to light (especially as we’re dealing with a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio).
Saturn is in a very tight t-square with this eclipse. Saturn on Aquarius 25: A BUTTERFLY WITH THE RIGHT WING MORE PERFECTLY FORMED in this aspect with the eclipse is strongly calling for the need to jettison those people, places, things, ideas, perceptions (whatever) that are no longer working in our lives. It can be, of course, that others make those decisions for us and we can, if we’re not mindful, be side-swiped by events that can feel especially karmic or fated. Of course, with the wording ‘right wing’, we may be swaying in our political leanings – either left or right or more to the center, or, for many, the feeling of the need to be more ‘independent’ of political leanings and coming more from a place of personal power. With all that’s going on, that can be a tall order, but, we might be rather sick and tired of the ol’ ‘left and right’ ‘this and that’.
Pluto, which is stationary retrograde, is in a nice sextle aspect to this lunar eclipse. Pluto is on Capricorn 29: A WOMAN READING TEA LEAVES. Transformations are always possible at any time, but, if we really look into ourselves, our reactions, situations, places, people, etc, we can see things ever more clearly this total lunar eclipse in Scorpio. It’s a very powerful one.
There’s more to say – there always is.

The Sabian Symbol of the Scorpio total lunar eclipse is Scorpio 26: INDIANS MAKING CAMP IN NEW TERRITORY – the following is my full interpretation from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees of Wisdom –
Commentary: ‘Indians Making Camp in New Territory’ shows people seeking out and finding somewhere ‘New’ to set up their lives. They’ve found somewhere suitable to make ‘Camp’ and are probably busy going about their lives to ensure they’ll be comfortable and their needs will be met as best they can. Perhaps it’s intended that they’ll stay long-term in this ‘New Territory’ but it could also be that they’re just there for the short term and will be moving on before long.
Oracle: Someone – perhaps many people -have found ‘New territory’ and there is a need to acclimatize, assess the environment and get their lives in order. There is also the need to adjust quickly on a psychological level to the environment they are settling into. Whether it’s the actual moving of home, or settling into a new job, you need to feel at home in both an inner and outer sense. This ‘New Territory’ doesn’t necessarily have to be about actual encampments; its “newness” can be represented in an emotional or spiritual framework. However, if someone doesn’t feel at home, there may be a creeping sense of unease as you or others find it hard to relax and feel safe and accepted in this new environment. If there is no real conflict over this ‘Territory’ and no stepping on other people’s toes, this can be a very enriching experience that can lead to all sorts of new experiences, relationships and possibilities. However, people sometimes merely inhabit a space and then depart leaving a mess all around them. How can you and others help in making an effort to ensure that everyone’s territory, living and personal space, and even emotional space is not overcrowded, compromised or damaged in some way?
Keywords: Settling in. Walk-ins. Having to learn the rules of being in a new environment. The need for freedom to live one’s life as one wants. Concerns with territory. Immigration. Migration across countries. Gathering things together for family and community needs. Tents. Shelter. Co-habitation. Revering and protecting the environment. Setting up camp. Going walkabout. Squatters. Respecting boundaries. Reservations.
The Caution: Moving into or invading other’s territory. Putting up with things when one should move on. Feeling invaded. Kicking people out because they don’t fit in or don’t belong. Segregation on grounds of color, race or religion. Compromising other’s living space. Arriving unannounced. Barging in. Attack and invasion.
The Karmic Condition (the previous degree) of this total lunar eclipse is Scorpio 25: AN X RAY PHOTOGRAPH HELPS WITH THE DIAGNOSIS
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able see into areas or realms that others generally don’t even take any notice of. You may find yourself looking for a deeper understanding of situations and you need to peel away the layers in order to get to the truth of the matter. You may need to employ both the emotions and the intellect. Ask yourself: what do you want to find and what is being done to reveal the structure or the nitty gritty of situations? Looking inside for clues. Being able to see through layers into the reality of things helps you to be able to make a “Diagnosis” – dia which means “by”, and gnosis which means “knowledge”
Keywords: Penetrating insight. Piercing through external appearances. Pure understanding. Incredible insight and revelations. Having the eyes to see. X-ray machines, spying, detective work. Reaching conclusions. Evaluations. Photographs. Negatives. Radiation. X-ray vision. Expensive and up-to-date equipment. Chemotherapy. Mammograms. Scanning equipment. Finding causes. Paparazzi.
The Caution: Disregarding the flesh on the outside-the humanity of people. Invading other people’s psychic or intellectual space. Undressing or revealing people through subtle manipulation. Always being intense and dissatisfied with the easy, or obvious, answers.
The Quest Degree (the following degree) of this total lunar eclipse is Scorpio 27: A MILITARY BAND MARCHES NOISILY ON THROUGH THE CITY STREETS
This Symbol shows the need for occasionally making a show for society to remind ourselves of our successes and achievements, whether they are collective or personal achievements. The “Military Band” can make an enormous amount of noise as it “Marches Noisily”, but sometimes we need to be awoken or reminded of the cohesion that a military band can show. Likewise, this degree can show a personality that likes to bang its own drum or to make a big noise for the establishment. As long as the audience is ok with the parade through their environment, one can contain the reaction from others. Sometimes, though, people get annoyed by people banging their drums a little too loudly.
Keywords: Making music to rouse people from complacency. Noisy announcements. Demanding attention. Trumpeting achievements. Reminders from the authorities that individuals are often not in charge. Celebrations of past battles. Corporate advertising. Peace rallies or war marches. Marching and drills. Precision movements. Baton twirling. Drums and trumpets. Spit and polish.
The Caution: A lot of volume that can be too pompous. So much volume that the true message gets lost. Demanding to be heard. Banging one’s drum, even when others might be unresponsive or not want to hear. Blaring announcements. Warnings to others to follow orders or to be complicit. Big ego displays. Propaganda. Threats to peace. Momentary disruptions.
The Sabian Symbol of the Sun is Taurus 26: A SPANIARD SERENADING HIS SENORITA
This Symbol speaks of being able to use one’s voice, words, songs, poetry and culture to sway the minds and hearts of others. One can sway others to achieve a desire result. There is no guarantee of total success, but you must act if you want any chance of succeeding and you need to put your heart and soul into the performance. The worst that could be damaged is a little ego, so think positively and play your role with enthusiasm and passion. Music can lift the spirits and words of poetry and love can be healing. Shared feelings, love or passion may result.
Keywords: Looking through pretence. Shared feelings, love or passion. Spontaneity. Welling expressions of romance. Being in tune with another. Soul mates. Chivalry. Reverting back to old methods of relating. Spinning tales to get a response. Knowing what to say and when. Music, singing, crooning, talking. Instruments. The use of the voice. Foreign voices. Guitars. Getting one’s message across.
The Caution: A ruse performed to achieve a goal by deception. Lies, deceit and propaganda. Not believing messages given by loved ones. Feeling like something is missing from a relationship. Superficial judgments of how things should look or be. Emotional manipulation. Selfish agendas. Things said merely to sway someone’s feelings. Empty promises or declarations. Pouring out the heart to deaf ears.
The Quest Degree of the Sun is Taurus 27: AN OLD INDIAN WOMAN SELLING BEADS AND TRINKETS
This Symbol indicates having talents and skills and crafts that reflect one’s culture or abilities. Don’t underestimate yourself and do only what you think others believe you are capable of. These very limitations are telling you of hidden talents and skills that you probably just take for granted. There is something very worthwhile on offer here, don’t wait for passersby to stop and pay attention. Others may think you’re more talented and special than you realize. Get out and show your talents and abilities.
Keywords: Older, wiser elements of society making offerings to the younger, less integrated. Small, but worthy products. Adapting to changing conditions, particularly monetary or financial. Working hard for small returns and rewards. Battling against the odds. Selling the products of one’s culture. Artifacts. Jewelry. Handicrafts. Retailing. Supplying the populace with beautiful things. Markets and stalls. Patience. Bartering and bargaining.
The Caution: Looking down on those that seem less fortunate. Loss of culture and traditional duties. Menial jobs. Devaluing things or overvaluing junk. Feeling that you have nothing to offer. Waiting for others to validate your worth. Bickering over money. Feeling ‘cursed’ with one’s lot in life. Lack of the respect for the arts. Being stuck in the marketplace. Sweat shops.
Mercury retrograde is on Gemini 4: HOLLY AND MISTLETOE BRING CHRISTMAS SPIRIT TO A HOME
This Symbol speaks of sharing the joys of family and celebrations. There regularly comes a time when we need to reconnect with loved ones, family, or, in a larger sense, humanity to discover the strengths and joys in the cultural and religious bonds that hold us together. Even though we may live our lives primarily as separate entities, this bond can serve to strengthen each and every participant. Remembering each other periodically helps to keep our connections strong and it reinforces our sense of spirit and belonging.
Keywords: Social celebrations of the spirit. Returning to basic joys. Remembering past celebrations of family and social cohesion. Kissing under the mistletoe. Simple gestures that remind us of larger realities. Warmth, joy and anticipation. The Festive Season. The spirit of special occasions.
The Caution: The use of superficial tricks. Performances to achieve the appearance of happiness or familial ties. Neglecting family. Excluding others because of religious beliefs. Rituals that have no depth or true meaning. Loneliness. Not being in the spirit of things. Having too much to do. The Silly Season. Scrooge mentalities that don’t want to know about family and celebrations.
Mercury went retrograde on Gemini 5: A RADICAL MAGAZINE OR PUBLICATION, ASKING FOR ACTION, DISPLAYS A SENSATIONAL FRONT PAGE
This Symbol speaks of calling for and being motivated for change. Revolution and revolutionaries come in all shapes and sizes; some instigate major changes in society, others are more into bucking the system and creating mini reforms in their own back yards. Although you may not be absolutely sure which direction to take, you are broadcasting and listening to messages around you. Look further within for the change in direction you need. Dramatizing one’s situation can lead to overreaction, but doing nothing can lead to inertia and things staying exactly the same.
Keywords: Speaking one’s mind. Messages and news that awakes or shocks. The need for reform. Challenging outlooks. Breaking out of constraints. The media. Issues of propaganda. Headlines that promise more than they deliver. Revolutions. Social or emotional causes. Conspiracy theories. Printing presses. Publishing. Publicity. Gaining attention. Speaking one’s truth without fear of consequences.
The Caution: Being argumentative. Arousing others for selfish reasons. Distortions of the truth. Misinformation and disinformation. Getting the whole picture wrong. Exploitation of situations. Overstating messages. Biased information. Old and outworn news.
The Sabian Symbol for Venus (which is conjunct Chiron) is Aries 16: BRIGHTLY CLAD BROWNIES DANCING IN THE WARM DYING LIGHT
The Brownies Symbol shows that help, given or received, is always available, especially if you believe it and accept assistance that’s offered. Sometimes, your intuitive powers are at a real high but your physical energy may not be. You may be tired and in need of help to get everything done and a lot may be demanded of you. Have faith that there’s often invisible assistance around you. You are always being guided and protected. Open your mind to possibilities and listen to the messages from within.
Keywords: Reveling in nature. Believing in guides. Fairies and nature spirits. The wonder and awe of nature. The setting sun. Last minute preparations before evening. The psychic magic of dusk. Light that dances. Unseen guardians. Receiving guidance and help. Seeing the invisible. Help at the last minute. Fairy godmothers. Questions of: what is the “real” world?
The Caution: Self-delusions. Missing the true picture of what’s happening in the “real-world”. Losing the plot. Relying on others, including angels, nature spirits, etc., instead of yourself. Neglecting responsibilities. Crying wolf. Using people.
The Sabian Symbol of Mars (which is conjunct Neptune) is Pisces 24: THE TINY ISLAND SEEMS LOST IN THE BROAD OCEAN, BUT ITS HAPPY INHABITANTS HAVE CREATED A GREAT WORLD ALL THEIR OWN
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to live with others, to share the same space, to create a happy life. The people pictured in this Symbol all live together and have “Created a Great World All Their Own”. No matter how well people get along, people still have to compromise and give and take in order to sustain good community relations. Drawn together by similar hopes and ambitions it is ironic that sometimes compromise is the only way to successful coexistence. Making the most of what is available, even though it is restrictive, will help to dispel any feelings of being cutoff and isolated. Who are you comfortable sharing your space with? Who would you have sharing your desert island?
Keywords: Adaptability and cohabitation. People jammed in. Seeking others of like mind. Knowing a lot of people. Always considering others. Noise and light pollution. Feeling like new blood is needed in order to grow and flourish. Coexistence. Apartments. Living together. People moving in.
The Caution: Cutting off from those around. Not having enough privacy—or space. Things being kept too “all in the family”. No chance to be alone. Pollution and garbage. Crowding out people. Loneliness even amongst many. Being deserted and lost.
The Sabian Symbol of Jupiter (which has just moved into Aries) is Aries 1: A WOMAN HAS RISEN OUT OF THE OCEAN, A SEAL IS EMBRACING HER
This degree is the beginning of the zodiac where the old gets left behind. The pic is “The Mermaid” by Howard Pyle, painted in 1910. A wonderful visualization of Aries 1: A Woman Has Risen Out of the Ocean, a Seal is Embracing Her.
New understanding and awareness is coming to light. Something new is emerging and it needs to be welcomed and nurtured. This is the beginning of a whole new impulse, creative and responsive. There’s an emergence of a whole new potentiality. Resist looking back to outgrown and unsatisfactory conditions in your life as they can pull you back to old and unrewarding ways of being. This is also about finding your voice and your feet. It’s about conscious individuation and the need to forge into new worlds with a new way of being.
Keywords: Cycles starting. Beginnings. Emergence into concrete manifestation. Embracing and honoring the shadow. Recognizing our animal side. Tropical islands or lands. Rocky shores. Seals. Oceans and water. Shedding skins. Transmutation. The Selkie myth. Grounding one’s energy. Stepping between the sea and the shore. Androgyny. Love and its embrace. Finding your feet and your voice. Mermaids.
The Caution: Using masculine power to overshadow emotions. Refusing to move on. Feeling held back by fears and old life patterns. Falling back into previous, unsatisfactory conditions. Dragging others backwards. Immobilizing fear of the unknown. Being just another “fish in the sea”.
The Sabian Symbol of Saturn is Aquarius 25: A BUTTERFLY WITH THE RIGHT WING MORE PERFECTLY FORMED
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to find balance, to find your center so that you might be more effective, stable and organized in your life. As the “Butterfly” has a “Right Wing More Perfectly Formed”, you may be applying your rational logical mind out of balance to your intuitive and creative wisdom, or, vice versa. It is often harder to understand your intuitive messages, but reliance on logic can limit your possibilities. However, not applying logic can lead to big problems as well. There can be physical handicaps which may prevent one from truly doing what one wants, or strange imbalances on the spiritual level.
Keywords: Rising above life’s distortions. A need to bring some type of balance to situations. Injuries or problems with hands or arms. One side being more ‘Perfect’ than the other. The ‘Right’ being better than the left. Mutations. Handicaps. Challenges. Disabilities. Impediments.
The Caution: Imbalances and physical distortions. Asymmetry. An imbalance of functions leading to involuntary flapping around. Distortions of reactions or of the truth. Lopsidedness. Hindrances. Being at a disadvantage. Feeling incapacitated.
The Sabian Symbol of Uranus is Taurus 16: AN OLD PERSON IS ATTEMPTING, WITH A DEGREE OF SUCCESS UNSUSPECTED BY THEM, TO REVEAL THE MYSTERIES TO A MOTLEY GROUP
This Symbol implies that one holds an understanding that is either ahead of the times or behind the times. Regardless of which it is, you may feel that no-one is paying attention to your advice or wisdom, but it is not your wisdom that is at fault, it may be your approach coupled with a lack of awareness of the listeners. Perhaps those you are trying to reach are not ready yet for the information or they instinctively already know it. However, often people are soaking up things without really showing how much they are ‘getting it’. Sometimes you teach better by example than by trying to persuade.
Keywords: The need to try a new approach. Challenging the status quo. Astrodrama. Being way ahead of one’s time. Getting one’s message across in an innovative and creative way. A teacher uniting diverse people in a common cause. Generation gaps. Wisdom given with expectation. Ideas bringing people together.
The Caution: Exaggerated opinion of one’s understanding of the situation. The mistaken belief that others need to know something. Not being in touch with the “times”. Feeling outdated. Preaching old, possibly outworn ideas. Insecure feelings based on conservative expectations of others.
The Quest Degree of Uranus is Taurus 17: A SYMBOLICAL BATTLE BETWEEN `SWORDS’ THE DISCIPLES OF MIGHT, AND `TORCHES’, THE DISCIPLES OF ENLIGHTENMENT
This Symbol shows a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil. Although we all have our own ideas of right and wrong, this Symbol shows a desire to go head-to-head in an attempt to bring light and love to situations that seem dark and foreboding. Often, there is a struggle between one’s practical needs and the underlying reasons for having those needs. You may find yourself sometimes caught up in what you are trying to achieve and have lost sight of why. There’s often corruption around, but the endeavor to bring ‘enlightenment’ to people often meets with severe resistance. Witness the stranglehold the media has on information.
Keywords: The battle of “might versus light”. The Spear of Destiny. Spiritual differences. Arguments. The story of Hitler. The Inquisition. The Crusades. Bringing love and light to war zones. The pen being mightier than the sword. Peace marches, Candles, torches. Weapons. The might of the media.
The Caution: Controlling those around with rational or brute force rather than with inner enlightenment or knowledge. People arguing over ideals. Forcing opinions on each other. Religious conflicts. War rallies. Propaganda.
The Sabian Symbol of Neptune (which is conjunct Mars) is Pisces 25: THE PURGING OF THE PRIESTHOOD
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to see through those who hold important positions yet abuse trust or those who make great claims but don’t live up to them. At regular times in your life, you’re likely to find yourself leaving others behind, kicking them out, or experiencing falls from grace. Periodically, there is a need to examine moral and spiritual sincerity. It is easy to allow those who don’t really belong to stay because of familiarity or habit. We can lose sight of the ideal through our rationalizing intellect, ego and emotive passion. There is a need to cleanse and purify your life, leading to better spiritual values. What side of the “Purging” are you on? Are you the one with the ‘right motives’? Who’s in charge?
Keywords: Revealing the truth of people for who and what they truly are. Cutting people off. Throwing out things that don’t measure up. Forced retirement and redundancies. Payouts at the end of employment. Dismissals. Opting out for moral reasons. Being fired. Holes left where someone took up a lot of space.
The Caution: Stressful battle over who’s in charge. Blackmail. The threat of being thrown out. Something being revealed. Evicting people because they deceive, lie or mislead or just because they’re not liked. Bringing somebody down. Scapegoating others. Corruption and scandal that threaten collapse. Wanting to appear to be doing the right thing. Coverups. The burning of books. Perversion.
The Sabian Symbol of Pluto is Capricorn 29: A WOMAN READING TEA LEAVES
This Symbol shows the ability to, or the need for, being able to see things that others miss, and being able to use the intuition in order to receive the gifts that divination can bring. While others just see something simple like a tea cup, you can have the ability to weave a story for yourself and others about how life will, or can, be. One has to put aside skepticism and be able to embrace trust and intuitive knowing in order to be able to listen to the messages that are around you. Be open to seeing meaning through the catalyst of the simplest of everyday events. You will receive messages, if you are open to ‘seeing’ the signs. You may have to deal with skeptical people in your life.
Keywords: Symbolism opening pathways to the spiritual center. Seeing the signs. Seeing signatures in small things that others miss. Intuition and clairvoyance. Creative visualization. Tea leaves and coffee grinds. Non verbal cues. Rituals. Tea and sympathy. Fathoming the depths of simple things. Predicting the future. Seeking guidance and changes of fortune.
The Caution: Reliance on superstition or esoteric advice. Constantly seeking assurance. Taking things literally, not symbolically. Looking for answers or significance everywhere. Small rewards for talents that should be more respected.
The Quest Degree of Pluto is Capricorn 30: A SECRET MEETING OF MEN RESPONSIBLE FOR EXECUTIVE DECISIONS IN WORLD AFFAIRS (this is Dane Rudhyar’s take on this degree) – Elsie Wheeler’s original wording is A SECRET BUSINESS CONFERENCE
This Symbol shows the ability to, or the need for, being able to meet with others in order to lay out plans; to have “Secret” meetings of people, people that are often VIP’s in some way or, at least, in charge of decisions or governments or empires. The “Directors” meet, they conference or just conference call, they exchange views, ideas, gossip. There may be decisions to be made or plans to be laid out. Do you make all your decisions on your own, or do you need help? You can often call on the relevant knowledgeable friends or authorities, as you’re bound to know them or how to meet them, and you’ll iron out the details. Sometimes, however, you may feel shut out by those “in charge”.
Masterly control. Sharing innermost secrets. Confidential information. Big guys. Calling the shots. Governments and secret spies. Strategies. Having a say. Councils. Doors.
The Caution: Excluding those affected by decisions. Exploiting people or situations. Being kept in the dark. Gossip. Loose lips. Refusal of entry. The glamour of big business.
The Sabian Symbol of Chiron is Aries 15: AN INDIAN WEAVING A BLANKET IN THE LIGHT OF THE SETTING SUN
This is interesting in the light of the fact that I see Chiron as being about The Stories We Tell Ourselves, and, it’s on a Symbol that speaks about ‘telling our stories’. This is also the Karmic Condition of Venus on this lunar eclipse – Aries 16: BROWNIES DANCING IN THE WARM DYING LIGHT. Both Symbols speak of ‘sunset’ (another example of how amazing the Symbols are with Elsie Wheeler ‘manifesting’ them in 1925 in blind and random order).
This Symbol shows how the traditional skills of life can symbolize the story of both the past and the present. It shows the ability to take time out to create something that is not only useful, but contains the symbols of the story of your life, culture, skills, etc. Also, some things need doing, just because they need to be done. Taking the best materials and taking time to do the job well will ensure a sense of meaning and purpose in your life.
Keywords: The fabric of one’s being. Traditional pastimes and skills. Weaving security and independence. Patience and gentle handcrafting. Stories, especially those handed down. Tales and traditions. Consideration of one’s unique history. Weaving, spinning looms. The warp and weft of life. One’s life story—past and present. Being focused on one’s tasks. Colours, dyes. Threads.
The Caution: Underestimating skills of self-expression in comparison with intellectual skills. Allowing dull routines to overcome. Feeling one hasn’t got much to contribute. Inability to apply to routine and necessary tasks. Being too “full-time” about one’s work. Feeling insecure no matter what the situation. Selling off one’s integrity. Finding that it’s too late in the day to get anything done. Not knowing when to stop.
The Sabian Symbol of the Moon’s north node is Taurus 23: A JEWELRY SHOP FILLED WITH THE MOST MAGNIFICENT JEWELS
This Symbol points to an abundance of beauty, talent, riches or potentiality. This degree brings the message of admiring the achievements of others whilst also allowing yours to be recognized and admired as well. Realize that what you need is either at hand or soon will be. Also, something you create can last way beyond your own years. Believing in yourself and those around you can bring a wonderful sense of reward and fulfillment. Try wearing special jewelry to remind you of your self-worth, talent, ability and beauty.
Keywords: Great talent, wealth, rewards and gifts. Beauty that brings joy. Materialization of perfection. Judges of worth. Things that shine. Jewelry, stones, gold and silver. Shops, especially those that have beautiful displays. The rewards and bounty of the natural world. Treasure of any description. Purity. Genius. Crystals. Security guards. Window shopping. Personal Adornments. Things that glimmer.
The Caution: Wanting more than one’s share of rewards and spoils, even if there is plenty to share. Things for looking at, not touching. Always wanting more. Being dazzled by possessions. Greed. Stealing or wanting other people’s valuables. Superficial displays. The need for security. Jealousy. Theft. Beauty that covers up a lack of worth, talent or depth. Faking authenticity. Having to have bars on the windows. Longing for ownership. Objects of envy.
The Sabian Symbol of the Moon’s south node is Scorpio 23: A RABBIT METAMORPHOSED INTO A FAIRY (NATURE SPIRIT)
This Symbol shows ascension or evolution to higher states of being. You may find your self, at times during your life, having a transformative realization that will take your focus away from the baser, animal instincts, to a more evolved, higher spiritual perception. This can lead to having higher codes of living; operating on elevated planes of being. Coming to terms with one’s vital energies can free you up to find a higher state of being.
